>From the Knoxville News Sentinel 13 Jun 2003 COX, GERALD LYNN "JERRY" - age 56, of Clinton, LAND, MARY EDITH - age 87, of Newcomb, Tennessee, ==================================== COX, GERALD LYNN "JERRY" - age 56, of Clinton, peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2003, surrounded by his daughters and loved ones. He had survived a long battle with leukemia and a successful bone marrow transplant. He died from related complications. Jerry was a United States Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War and an accomplished guitarist. Preceded in death by parents, Mr. and Mrs. Everett F. Cox. Jerry was born January 2, 1947 in Clinton. Survivors: daughters, April Hooper of Halls Crossroads and Stephanie Cox of Chattanooga, Maranda Ezell of Clinton; sisters,. Virginia Cox Croft of Dandridge, Lisa June Cox of Jackson, Linda Cox-Leija of Knoxville. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2003, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, 8:00 p.m. service . Graveside services 11:00 a.m., Saturday morning at Cox Cemetery. LAND, MARY EDITH - age 87, of Newcomb, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2003 at Fort Sanders Parkwest Medical Center, Knoxville, Tennessee. She was a retired school teacher and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Lenoir City, Tennessee. Preceded in death by parents, David B. and Mollie Queener Wright and her husband, Herman Land. She is survived by a sister, Alma Blankenship of Winter Haven, Florida; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The last month of her life, she was in the loving care of the wonderful staff of River Oaks Place in Lenoir City, TN. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2003 at Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel and proceed to Jellico Cemetery for a graveside service and interment, Rev.
