Carden, 80, of Knoxville, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Fort Sanders Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. Born Aug. 30, 1922, in Andersonville, he was the son of Fletcher Mike and Nola Katheryn Pike Carden, both now deceased. Mr. Carden was a member and deacon of First Free Will Baptist Church in Oak Ridge. In his younger days he worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps. and he retired as an electrician from Martin Marietta at the K-25 site. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Madge Carden, Jan. 29, 1987, and by six brothers and two sisters. Mr. Carden is survived by a daughter, Teresa Barnes and husband, Philip, of Knoxville; a grandson, Samuel Christopher Barnes of Knoxville; a brother, Walter Clyde Carden of Heiskell; and by two sisters, Alberta Bacon of Heiskell and Irene Foster of Powell. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2003, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. James Lawson and the Rev. Ernest Joyce officiating. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 20, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton. The family requests that any memorials be made in the form of contributions to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Kimble Leroy Farmer, 74, of Clinton, died Monday, June 16, 2003, at his home. Born July 24, 1928, in Anderson County, he was the son of Hugh and Laura Farmer. Mr. Farmer worked as a funeral director for 38 years in the Anderson County and Knoxville area. Most of those years were spent serving the former Martin Funeral Home and Anderson County Funeral Home in Clinton. He was also a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean conflict and he was a member of the Knoxville Volunteer State Honor Guard. Mr. Farmer is survived by his wife, Mary Farmer; three daughters, Janice Line of Harriman, Lynn Mayes and Ricky Gibbs of Clinton, and Maribess Arden and husband, Steve, of Powell; one son, Mike Farmer and wife, Nancy, of Toledo, Ohio; and by his grandchildren, Alan and Sudartha Line, Brad Line and family, Jacob McPherson, Brandon Arden, Nicole Farmer, Mindy Farmer, Michell Farmer and Austin Thomas Line. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Ricky and Steve for all their love. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2003, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Curtis Nolan officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home Robert Willard Forseman, 83, of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
