Duncan, 78, of Oak Ridge, Barbara Kertis Bracken, 89, of Harriman, Ellen Grimwood, 85, of Oak Ridge, Maudie Jones, 79, of Oliver Springs, ==================================== Jerry Kenneth "Ken" Daniels Jr., 49, of Oak Ridge, died Friday, June 13, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born Nov. 20, 1953, in Knoxville, he was the son of Bertha Fox Jenkins and the late Jerry Kenneth Daniels Sr. He was a graduate of Clinton High School where he received a football scholarship to Austin Peay State University. His family said he was an avid golfer and loved his family dearly. Mr. Daniels was also preceded in death by his stepfather, James O. Jenkins. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Chris Daniels of Oak Ridge and Kevin Daniels of Clinton; a sister, Kim Fraker and husband, Tim, of Oak Ridge; two stepbrothers, Jimmy Jenkins of Knoxville and Scott Jenkins of Oak Ridge; a niece, Amber Fraker of Oak Ridge; and by several extended family members. The funeral was Sunday, June 15, 2003, in the chapel of HolleyGamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Steve McDonald officiating. Burial was to be at 11 a.m., Monday, June 16, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton. Nancy Ann McGinnis Southern, 47, of Oak Ridge, died Friday, June 13, 2003, at her home. Born Sept. 10, 1955, in Oak Ridge, she was the daughter of Reba Lou Monteith McGinnis and the late Roger Lee McGinnis, who died Nov. 8, 2000. Mrs. Southern was a member of Central Baptist Church in Oak Ridge and worked as a case manager with the Department of Human Services after dedicating many years to Emory Valley Center. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Robert R. Southern; her daughter, Ashley Southern, of Cookeville; her sister, Pat Weeks and husband, J.W., of Oak Ridge; three nieces, Kara Weeks, Kelly Weeks and Jessica Southern, all of Oak Ridge; her fatherinlaw and motherinlaw, Hollis and Ann Southern, of Oak Ridge; and by a brotherinlaw, James Southern, of Oak Ridge. A memorial service will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2003, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Bob Gray officiating. The family requests that any memorials be made in the form of contributions to the Emory Valley Center, 715 Emory Valley Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Richard Erwin Rosenberg, 78, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at Life Care Center of Morgan County, surrounded by his family. He had been living with Parkinson's disease for many years. Born Jan. 6, 1925, in Shawano, Wis., he was the son of Alfred and Frieda Pahlow Rosenberg, both now deceased. He was a submarine officer in the U.S. Navy at 17 and served on the U.S.S. Puffer during World War II. His studies at Valparaiso University led to a law degree and eventual partnership in the Nowlan and Mouat Law Firm in Janesville, Wis. In Janesville, he was president of the city council on which he served for eight years and a founding member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Mr. Rosenerg was active in the mentoring of young lawyers in his law firm and taught the Bethel Series, an adult Bible study course. He was a Fellow of the American Academy of Trial Lawyers and argued cases before the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Mr. Rosenberg retired from his law practice in 1990 and moved to Oak Ridge with his wife, Judy Alspaugh Rosenberg, a native of the city. He came to know the community by way of Faith Lutheran Church, volunteer activities at Recording for the Blind, and his golf and poker groups. His family said he was an avid reader and fan of the Oak Ridge Library before his disease began restricting his activities and abilities. His family said he was nurtured during his illness by family and friends as well as caring staffs at Keystone Adult Day Program, the Oak Ridge Retirement Community and Estates of Oak Ridge, and briefly at the Life Care Center of Morgan County. In addition to his wife Judy, Mr. Rosenberg is survived by his daughter Gay McManamy of Denver, Colo.; three sons Eric Rosenberg and Paul Rosenberg, both of Bend, Ore., and Peter; a daughterinlaw Valerie; three grandchildren Allegrea, Jacob, and Ravelle, all of Janesville; stepdaughter, Jill Ebeling of Davis, Calif.; a stepson David Ebeling of Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers Don of Wausau, Wis. and Herb of Twisp, Wash.; and by a sister Helen Domke of Seattle, Wash. A memorial service will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1300 Oak Ridge Turnpike. Burial will be by cremation. The family will receive friends at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements Ray Oldaker, 88, of Clinton, formerly of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, June 12, 2003, at Key Springs Residential. Born July 27, 1914, in Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va., he was the son of Harry E. and Zella Nibert Oldaker, both now deceased. Mr. Oldaker had worked as an instrument repair technician with Union Carbide at the Oak Ridge K25 site. He came to this area in 1945 from West Virginia. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Clinton, a member of the antique clock club, and a ham radio operator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Barker Oldaker, who died Sept. 10, 2000. Mr. Oldaker is survived by a daughter, Shirley Drummond and husband, Clyde, of Clinton; a sister, Emma Lorane Workman, of Point Pleasant, W.Va.; and by three grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren and one greatgreat grandson. The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2003, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Garvan Walls officiating. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family requests that memorials be made in the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 2200 Sutherland Ave., Knoxville, TN 37919. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, at the mortuary. Dr. Frank R. Mraz, 78, died Friday, June 13, 2003. He was professor emeritus at the University of Tennessee and a Purple Heart recipient in the U.S. Army. Dr. Mraz is survived by his wife, Patricia Rowan Mraz, and a nephew, Robert Michisk. A funeral Mass was to be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2003, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Nashville with the Rev. Charley Giacosa officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Nashville. Marshall Donnelly Combs Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements. Ethel Claudia Hill, 81, of Clinton, died Thursday, June 12, 2003, at her home surrounded by her family. Born Sept. 21, 1921, in Rusk, Texas, she was the daughter of Carl and Alma Jane Free Ponder, both now deceased. In earlier years, she was owner and operator of a grocery store in the Clinton area and she was a member of Poplar Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Samuel Hill and a daughter, Barbara Sunday. Mrs. Hill is survived by two daughters, Nancy Wellman and husband, Steve, of Lacey, Wash. and Jessica Queener of Clinton and by 10 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren. The funeral was Saturday, June 14, 2003, in the chapel of HolleyGamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Bill Dawson officiating. Burial was Sunday, June 15, at Poplar Creek Baptist Church cemetery. William C. Duncan, 78, of Oak Ridge, died Friday, June 13, 2003, at the Briarcliff Health Care Center in Oak Ridge. Born Jan. 30, 1925, in Morgan County in the Piney Grove community, he was the son of Edward and Minnie Terry Duncan, both now deceased. Mr. Duncan was a retired truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jean Duncan; a brother, Tom Duncan; and by a sister, Ruth Hamby. Mr. Duncan is survived by his son, Bill Duncan and wife, Pat, of Oak Ridge, and a sister, Ruby Yearling of Kankakee, Ill. The family will have a private service at later date. HolleyGamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of arrangements. Barbara Kertis Bracken, 89, of Harriman, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at Briarcliff Health Care Center in Oak Ridge.
