He attended Grace Baptist Church on W. Wolfe Valley Rd. He was a Veteran of The United States Army, having served in World War II. Survived by wife, Margaret Garrison; daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Stan Mattie; step-children, Charlene and Richard True, Jerry W. and Pam Woody, and Regina Mackie; grandchildren, Adam, Colby and Emily Mattie, Michelle, Abby, Kim, Melissa and Rebecca; three great- grandchildren, Cody, Allison, and Michael; special niece, Dorothy Fugate. The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Woodhaven Chapel, Rev. Donnie Wallace officiating. The entombment will follow in Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. PYLES, RUTH LORRETTA - age 77, of Lake City, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at her residence. She was born March 8, 1926, in Harlan County, Kentucky, to the late Hobart and Oma Rains Pyles. Ruth was a member of the Vasper Baptist Church. She loved fishing and flower gardening. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Pyles; brothers, J. T. Pyles, Robert Pyles and Luther Pyles, and sister, Mary Lou Disney. Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, Larry James and Linda Pyles of Caryville, Tenn., and Terry Curtis and Pam Pyles of Caryville, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law, Anna Marie and Darrell Jenkins of Medford Community; daughter, Mary Sue Standridge of Caryville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Bill Mac and Mary Pyles of Jacksboro, Tenn.; brother, Horace Pyles of Caryville, Tenn.; sisters, Stella Mae Lasley of Caryville, Tenn., and Evelyn Bruce of LaFollette, Tenn.; sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Jimmy McGhee of Caryville, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews. REYNOLDS, HILDA McCUISTON - age 90, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, died Thursday, June 19, 2003, at her home. Funeral services were held in Montgomery at the Chapel of Leak-Memory Funeral Home on Saturday, June 21. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on Sunday, June 22. She was born in Kirksey, Kentucky, the daughter of Montie and Flora McCuiston, both now deceased. Her husband, Thurston H. Reynolds, also preceded her in death. Mrs. Reynolds was a resident of Oak Ridge from 1945 to 1954, and of the Farragut-Concord Community from 1954 to 1970. Mrs. Reynolds was a registered nurse, an avid gardener, and was active in the community and church for her entire life. She was one of the early members of the New York Avenue Church of Christ in Oak Ridge. The initial meetings of the Farragut Church of Christ were held in the family home near Concord. While in her seventies, she served as a medical missionary in Spain, Canada and Nigeria. She is survived by four children, Myrna Morrow of Selma, Alabama, Larry Reynolds of Oak Ridge, Linda Russell of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Thurston Reynolds II of Montgomery, Alabama; a brother, Macon McCuiston of Nashville, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. TURNER, IMOGENE OLIVA - of Clinton, TN, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at the Windwood Health Care Center at the age of 83, wife of Walter E. Turner. She was formerly of Knoxville where she lived in West Hills for 34 years before moving to Clinton. She was a graduate of Young High School where she was in the National Honor Society and a graduate of the Knoxville Business College. She was a member of the New Hopewell Baptist Church for 14 years, church clerk and Sunday school teacher. She helped set up a church library and trained others to work in the library. She later became a member of Central Baptist Church of Bearden. She was a member of the 10:00 o'clock Garden Club of West Hills and a Boy Scout troop leader. She was a devoted wife, beloved mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by parents, Alex and Pearl Nelson Clark; brother, Orville Clark; brother Curtis and wife, Marie Clark; sister- in-law, Lucille Clark. Survived by husband, Walter Turner; brother, Cecil Clark of Knoxville; two sons, Gary, wife, Anna and granddaughter, Kimberly Turner of Clinton, John, wife, Susan and granddaughter, Laura Turner of Clinton; niece, Glenda Jett; nephew, Jerry Clark of Knoxville; several dear and close friends.
