Peters, 72, of Oak Ridge, ===================================== >From the Oak Ridger 25 Jun 2003 Hilda McCuiston Reynolds, 90, of Montgomery, Ala., died Thursday, June 19, 2003. Born June 7, 1913, in Kirksey, Ky., she was the daughter of Thomas Montie and Flora Hamlin McCuiston, both now deceased. She completed her nurse's training at Nashville General Hospital in Nashville and was employed as the U.S. Public Health nurse for Pickett and Overton counties in Livingston, where she met and married the late Thurston H. Reynolds on Sept. 1, 1940. They moved to Oak Ridge in January of 1945, where they both were employed at the Oak Ridge K-25 site. Mrs. Reynolds was a nurse in the dispensary. The family moved to the Farragut area in 1954 where Mrs. Reynolds was employed in the Cobb-Duncan Family Medical Clinic and later as the head nurse at Johnson Nursing Home in Lenoir City. After her husband's death in 1969, she moved to Abilene, Texas, where she was a nurse at Abilene Christian University. She later moved to Hazel, Ky., and then to Montgomery. Mrs. Reynolds was an avid gardener and was active in the community and church for her entire life. She was one of the early members of the New York Avenue Church of Christ in Oak Ridge. The initial meetings of the Farragut Church of Christ were held in the family home near Concord. She was also a member of the Church of Christ in Lenoir City, Abilene, Hazel and the Vaughn Park Church of Christ in Montgomery. While in her 70s, she served as a medical missionary in Spain, Canada and Nigeria. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters. Mrs. Reynolds is survived by a brother, Macon McCuiston of Nashville; four children, Myrna Morrow and husband, William Douglas, of Selma, Ala., Larry D. Reynolds and wife, Mary Ellen, of Oak Ridge, Linda Russell and husband, Charles, of Alpharetta, Ga., and Thurston H. Reynolds II and wife, Deborah, of Montgomery; seven grandchildren, Paige Morrow Malesh of Murfreesboro, Tami L. Hilliard of Atlanta, Ga., Kathryn Reynolds Bell of Knoxville, Jeffrey H. Reynolds of Farragut, Gregory D. Reynolds of Columbia, S.C., Thurston H. Reynolds III and Elizabeth M. Reynolds, both of Montgomery; and by two great-grandchildren, John Malesh and Lee Malesh, both of Murfreesboro. Her family said she will be remembered by many friends. The funeral service was Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Leak Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Montgomery. Burial was Sunday, June 22, at Roselawn Cemetery in Murfreesboro. Johnathan B. Peters, 72, of Oak Ridge, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
