>From The Knoxville News Sentinel 11 Jun 2003 MADIX, JAMES (JIM) LAVELLE - 76 of Oak Ridge MILLER, THELMA JO - age 55, of LaFollette, ===================================== MADIX, JAMES (JIM) LAVELLE - 76 of Oak Ridge passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at Methodist Medical Center. He was born February 26, 1927 in Buckingham, Ill. to the late Raymond and Glennie Holmes Madix. He was also preceded in death by a son, Raymond Madix. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Julia Lee Madix, Oak Ridge; sons, Richard of Pikeville, Tenn., Steve of Oak Ridge; daughters, Jean M. and husband, Matthew Atkinson, Karen and husband, Craig Bullock of Oak Ridge and Susan E. Madix of Tampa, Fla.; 5 grandchildren. Funeral service will be Thursday, at 2 p.m. in the Martin Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, and the receiving friends will be Thursday, at 12:30-2 p.m. The graveside service will be held at Anderson Memorial Gardens in Clinton. Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. MILLER, THELMA JO - age 55, of LaFollette, passed away Tuesday morning, June 10, 2003 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Stanley and Della Cooper Brassfield. She is survived by her husband, Roger E. Miller of LaFollette; step-daughters, Mary Varble and Stacie Teague, both of LaFollette; grandchildren, Savanah Varble, Georgie Varble, Virginia Varble, Matthew Claiborne, Felica Claiborne and Ernest Teague; sister, Judy Ann Nelson of LaFollette; brothers, Danny Brassfield and friend, Sarah Ruth Taylor of Middlesboro and Ray Brassfield of LaFollette; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at Cross Funeral Home, Rev. Clyde Ellison officiating. Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Bakers Forge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the funeral service.
