Born in Spring City, TN on July 16, 1934 to parents Alfred and Grace McCartt Tallent. Mrs. Rice had worked as an accountant with ORTEC EGG. She came to Oak Ridge in 1966 from Soddy Daisy, TN. Preceded in death by parents and by a sister. Survivors include: husband, Orlenas Rice, Oak Ridge; daughter, Donna Rice-Bassett and husband, Edward W. Bassett of Boston, Massachusetts; brother, Charles William Tallant, Soddy Daisy, TN; granddaughter, Katherine Angeline Neslund, Atlanta, GA. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary in Sunday, January 4, 2004, 7 PM with Rev. David Tabor officiating. A graveside service will be held on Monday, 1 PM at Spring City Cemetery, Spring City, TN.
