L.E. - age 79 of Wartburg, STOOKSBURY, ANNA RUTH REED - age 84, of Clinton, \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ PRATER, MABEL - of LaFollette, passed away January 28, 2004. Member of Morning Star Baptist Church, Maryville, Tenn. Survived by husband, Gene Prater. Funeral 1 p.m. at Cross Chapel, Rev. Leonard Dabney and Rev. Don Whited officiating. Interment Cumberland View Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Cross Funeral Home. REDMON, MR. L.E. - age 79 of Wartburg, passed away Wednesday, January 28th, 2004. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and a veteran of WW II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Dallie Redmon; and brother, Boyd. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Ward Redmon; daughter, Sylvia and Ronnie Norman; sons: Mike and Kathy, Wendell and Gloria, and Scott and Sabbath; sisters, Odessa Woolum and Leata Hollingsworth; brothers, Billy Martin and Johnnie Redmon; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday evening, January 30, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. The funeral service will begin at 8 p.m. with Rev. David Acres officiating. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, 11 am in Morgan Memorial Gardens. STOOKSBURY, ANNA RUTH REED - age 84, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville. Mrs. Stooksbury lived in Maryville for the last 1 1/2 years of her life in assistant living. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Goodlow Stooksbury, parents, Preacher Charlie Mack & Minnie Wright Reed; brothers, Clyde Mack, & Ralph Reed; & son-in-law, David Horton. She was born in the Wheat Community in Oak Ridge and was a member of Deep Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Heiskell, TN. Survivors: daughters, Joyce & husband Jim Overton of Maryville, Shirley Horton of Clinton; grandchildren, Eric & wife Nichole Overton of Maryville, Karen & husband David Lewis of Louisville, Amy & husband Joe Smith of Clinton; great grandson, Jordan Lee Overton of Maryville; great granddaughter to be born in February, Anna Sarah Lewis; brothers, Herman Reed of Oak ridge, Thurman Reed of Mascot; several nieces & nephews. Special Thank you to Judy Costner and staff from Home Away From Home in Maryville for the excellent care she received there. The family will receive friends of Saturday, January 31, 2004 at Holley- Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton at 1:00 PM. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be afterwards at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Joe Black from Maryville & the Rev. Brenda Poole from Lake City will be officiating. Pallbearers: Eric Overton, Joe Smith, David Lewis, Ken & Ronnie Fritts, members of Deep Springs Baptist Church, nephew, Jimmy Reed, other nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
