RALPH K. - age 73, of Andersonville, TN. passed away, 10 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospice Residential Center. He was retired from J.F.G. Coffee Company, and a member of Oaks Chapel American Christian Church. Ralph began preaching in 1955. He pastored several churches throughout his ministry where he touched many lives spiritually. He continued to work for the lord until His passing, and was a loving husband, father, and friend. He was preceded in death by: wife, Cora Lee (Loy) Beason; daughter, Wilma Beason; son, Daniel Beason; parents, Arthur & Stella (Sweet) Beason; brothers, Clarence & Robert Beason. Bruner and wife Christine of Knoxville; sisters, Martha Lois Park and Mary Lee Brown, of Oak Ridge; 2 grandchildren, Emily Cripps and husband Reed of Lafayette, IN and Christian Bruner of Knoxville; and 1 great grandson, Samuel Cripps of Lafayette, IN. EVANS, DONALD MACK - age 49, of Clinton, passed away Monday, January 12, 2004 at Methodist Medical Center. He was a member of Clinton Second Baptist Church. Proceeded in death by: his father, James Evans. Survivors: mother, Dollie Evans of Clinton; sister, Theresa and husband Bob Chutter of Andersonville; brothers, Ricky Evans of Clinton, Thomas and wife Judy Evans of Clinton; 4 nieces; 2 nephews; 1 great niece; 1 great nephew. FERRIS, LESLIE M. - age 72 of Powell, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Preceded in death by: parents, Leslie G. and Mary Maxine Mannigel Ferris; and brother, Richard P. Ferris. Retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory in 1993 after 38 years as R&D Chemist/Research Manager. Survivors: loving wife of 50 years, V. Darleen Ferris; daughter, Susan Ewing of Lookout Mountain, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Janet Ferris of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jim Shepard of Crestwood, KY; sisters and brothers-in- law, Mary and Jim Netzer of Ridgecrest, CA, Charlene and Richard Armstrong of Merced, CA; and eight wonderful grandchildren. He was a longtime member of the Guiding Star Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. His family admired his devotion to God. He will be greatly missed by many who loved him. Surviving: daughter and son-in-law; Margaret Rose and Raymond Norris, of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister; Mrs. Kathleen Fulwiler, of Glenmary, TN; four great grand children; and four great great grand children; one special nephew, Greg Fulwiler, Glenmary, TN. LIVELY, ELMER THOMAS - age 83, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Monday, January 12, 2004 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Charlie Logan Lively and Rose Mary Reynolds Lively; by a son, Vic A. Allen Lively; by a daughter, Lena F. Bunch; by three brothers, Ramsey Lively, Lewis Lively, and Carlie Lively; and by three sisters, Martha Gibson, Mary Lou Morgan, and Willie Byrge. Mr. Lively was born December 28, 1920 in Windrock. He started working in the coal mines at the age of 16. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the United Miner Workers of America. He worked at Windrock Coal Company, Clinchmore Coal, Rosedale Coal Company and Pocahonas Coal Company. Mr. Lively was a 45 year member of Union Valley Baptist Church and he was a US Army Veteran of W.W.II. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. Mr. Lively was a compassionate, considerate, understanding, loving husband and father who always put his family and others first. Survivors: wife of 61 years, Etta L. PAPKE, DOVIE MARIE TALLENT - age 76, formerly of Oak Ridge, TN was taken to be with the Lord on January 10, 2004 in Atlanta, GA. Born in Morganton, NC, Dovie graduated from Glen Apline High School (Glen Apline, NC) as the salutatorian of her class. She received a degree in business administration from Mars Hill College, Mars Hill, NC. Dovie was employed at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a senior executive secretary in the Thermonuclear Division. Hobbies included gourmet cooking, sewing, teaching conversational English, bowling, golf, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and World Travel. Dovie was preceded in death by: her beloved husband, Daryl M. Papke; her parents, Charles and Minnie Tallent (of Morganton, NC); and her four brothers, Lee, J.P., Earl and Charles Tallent (all of Morganton, NC). She is survived by: her daughter, Karen Papke Gatanis; son-in-law, Stave Gatanis; two grandchildren, Harry and Lydia Gatanis (all of Powder Springs, GA); two sisters, Alice T. McEvoy and Mozelle T. Lester (both of Knoxville, TN); two sisters-in-law, Rachel and Maxine Tallent (both of Morganton, NC); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service to celebrate Dovie's extraordinary beautiful life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Oak Ridge, TN with Reverend Ray Buchanan officiating. She was born September 24, 1910 in Campbell County, TN. She was a member of Black Oak Baptist Church in Clinton, TN. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, and especially loved making Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls. She is preceded in death by: her husband, Clarence Webber; parents, Charles and Belle Adkins; son, Dwain Webber; and grandson, David B. Webber.
