From the Knoxville News Sentinel 24 Nov 2005 BENNETT, RUBY GOODWIN - of Lenoir City, formerly of Oak Ridge, HATMAKER, GLENN DEAN - age 74 of Lake City, formerly of Briceville, HENDRICKSON, DAVID MARTIN - 57, formerly of Oak Ridge, NANCE, PARIS FRANKLIN - age 73 of Jacksboro, SHULTZ, JEFFERY L. - age 44 of Clinton, SWAN, MILDRED FOX - BENNETT, RUBY GOODWIN - of Lenoir City, formerly of Oak Ridge, passed away on November 22, 2005. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Paul in 2002, and by sisters, Elsie Green, Johnson City, Mary Garrett of Alabama, Iva Fine, Lenoir City. She was the daughter of Samuel Elmer Goodwin and Thaisa Seals Goodwin of Lenoir City. Ruby was a longtime resident of Oak Ridge where she lived most of her 79 years and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Bennett is survived by: her son, Michael who lives in Longwood, Florida; three sisters and two brothers, Samye Sims, Betty Dunlap, Ava Arp, Bill Goodwin and Roy Goodwin. The funeral service will be held on Friday, 7 pm in the Chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with Rev. Eddie Chastain officiating. A graveside service will be on Saturday, 1 pm at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. HATMAKER, GLENN DEAN - age 74 of Lake City, formerly of Briceville, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by: parents, Fred and Vera Harris Hatmaker; brothers, Paul, Claude and Ernest Lee Hatmaker. Mr. Hatmaker is survived by: daughter; Sandra and Brian Thames of Heiskell; grandchildren, Ceara and Jacquelyne Thames of Heiskell; sister-in-law, Georgia Hatmaker of Lake City; several nieces and nephews; and host of other relatives and friends. HENDRICKSON, DAVID MARTIN - 57, formerly of Oak Ridge, passed away Tuesday, November 15 in Bellflower, California. A graduate of Tennessee Tech University and Harriman High School, Hendrickson was an Engineer whose work took him from Oak Ridge to Indiana, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and ultimately the Long Beach area of Southern California, where her resided from the late 1980s until his passing and where his son Tyler Hendrickson, 16, still resides. David was raised in the Clax Gap Community of Roane County, the son of Betty S. Hendrickson and the late Bennie F. Hendrickson. He is survived by: his son, Tyler; his mother, Betty of Oak Ridge; sister, Wanda Todd and brother-in-law Ron Todd of Simpsonville, SC; nephew, Brad Todd and his wife Elizabeth of Alexandria, VA; and niece, Rachel Poysky, her husband James and their son Joel of Houston, Texas. Memorial services will be held in Bellflower, CA a the Community Presbyterian Church at 7 p.m. PST on Friday, November 18 and at the Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Harriman, where he was a member, on December 3rd at 1 p.m. EST. NANCE, PARIS FRANKLIN - age 73 of Jacksboro, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 23, 2005, at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, after a brief illness. He was of the Baptist Faith and a veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a builder and construction superintendent and retired from the LaFollette Housing Authority. He was a member of the Jacksboro Masonic Lodge #322 and served on the Jacksboro City Council. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed camping, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Dealis and Pearl Rector Nance; and his brother, J.H. Nance. He is survived by: his wife, Mattie Lou Lovett Nance; son & daughter-in-law, Lanny & Bridgett Nance; son, Tim Nance, all of Jacksboro; son, Darrell Nance, St. Joe, TX; daughter & son-in-law, Dawn & Darryl Chapman, Jacksboro; grandchildren, Hunter and Levi Chapman, Shala Sides, all of Jacksboro; brother & sister-in-law, Don & Sue Nance; sister-in-law, Billie Jean Nance, all of Jacksboro. SHULTZ, JEFFERY L. - age 44 of Clinton, passed away suddenly Monday, November 21, 2005 on a hunting trip in Campbell County. He was a member of Fair Haven Baptist Church in Powell and was an employee at Knoxville Utilities Board. Jeff's first love was God and his family and his second love was turkey and deer hunting. He is preceded in death by: mother, Carol Christine Shultz; and sister, Pamela Christine Shultz. Survivors: wife, Pam Shultz of Clinton; son, Jeffery "Dustin" Shultz wife Heather of Halls & expected grandchild; step son, Aaron P. Wright of Clinton; father, Hubert C. SWAN, MILDRED FOX - born June 24, 1906 in Knox County, died November 23, 2005 at the Farragut Health Care Center in Knox County. Mildred was 99 years old. She was a graduate of Farragut High School and retired as a long- standing employee at Union Carbide X-10 plant in Oak Ridge after many years. Mildred was preceded in death by: her first husband, Paul Watt Swan; her second husband, Harry McKenzie; her daughter, Barbara Swan Guinn; her grandson, John Paul Guinn; her parents, William Ethel Fox and Mary Russell Fox; and her brother, J.K. Fox. She is survived by: her two sons, Paul R. Swan and wife Helen of Farragut; Bill J. Swan and wife Lillian of Concord, NC; six grandchildren, Brenda Swan Hammill of Washington, DC, CAPT Kenneth A. Swan of Gales Ferry, CT, Paul Swan of Concord, NC, Cindy Taylor of Cookeville, Buddy Odom and Chris Odom both of Knoxville; 21 great grandchildren.
