RALPH - age 77 of LaFollette NEAL, TAMMY MICHELLE - age 28 of Lake City, TN formerly of Knoxville, TN RUSSELL, THELMA JEAN - age 58 of Andersonville JOHNSTONE, GEORGE HARVEY - age 78, of Knoxville, formerly of Campbell County, passed away at home on November 17, 2005. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1948. He served in the US Navy from 1945 through 1952 serving during World War II and the Korean War. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America for over 40 years, serving as a volunteer and on the Boy Scout Council. He graduated from the Citizens Police Academy in Knoxville and also did volunteer work there. He retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory in 1985 where he worked for 38 years. He maintained the voting machines for several counties for 30 years. Preceded in death by parents, George A. and Katherine M. Johnstone; wife Norma M. Johnstone; brother Richard Johnstone. Survived by sons Donald L. Johnstone and David A. and wife Mary Lou Johnstone; grandchildren: Erik L. Johnstone, Stephen A. Johnstone, Melanie Miller, and Leslie Frerichs; sister and brother-in-law, Tom and Vera Jo Catlett; nephew Chuck Catlett and wife Kathi. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel with a memorial service to follow at 8:00 PM. Adair Drive. www.lynnhurstchapel.com HELFENBERGER, CHARLES EDWARD - 83, of Oak Ridge, died Friday, November 18, 2005 at the Methodist Medical Center. He was born July 25, 1922 in Harriman, the son of Edward and Minnie Silvey Helfenberger. He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the US Army. Mr. Helfenberger retired in 1984 from Union Carbide Corp/ Y-12 where he was an outside machinist. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a 50- year member of Faith Masonic Lodge #756. Mr. Helfenberger was an avid landscaper and thoroughly enjoyed attending and participating in area flea markets. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Robert Whitaker Helfenberger, December 12, 2004. He is survived by: son, David Helfenberger and wife Shelley of Morristown; daughters, Diane Clark and husband Randy of Knoxville and Deborah H. Sumner and husband Jim of Kingston; brother, Forrest H. Helfenberger and wife Betty of Springfield, VA; sisters, Alene Miller of Oak Ridge and Evelyn Hicks of Tampa, FL; 3 grandchildren, Ryan Helfenberger of Morristown, Andres Clark of Knoxville and Christopher Clark and wife Michelle and great grandchild, Keenen Clark, all of Cumming, GA. RALPH - age 77 of LaFollette passed away November 14, 2005 at his home. He was a member of Ford Town Baptist Church. Mr. Leach had been an ordained minister for 42 years having pastored several churches in this area. He had a radio broadcast for 30 years. Preceded in death by father and mother: Rev. Harrison and Pearl Bruce Leach. Survived by wife: Alice Leach of LaFollette; son and daughter-in-law: David and Betty Leach of LaFollette; daughter and son-in-law: Deanna and Scoby Asbury of Jacksboro; brothers: JB and Bill Leach both of LaFollette; sisters: June James of Chattanooga, Jewell Winstead of LaFollette, Evelyn Bailey of Speedwell, Margie Ford of Speedwell; grandchildren: Lynn Leach and Cindy Pierce; great grandchildren: Carly and Alex Leach and Chloe Pierce. NEAL, TAMMY MICHELLE - age 28 of Lake City, TN formerly of Knoxville, TN and Russellville, AR, passed away suddenly Wednesday November 16 , 2005. Tammy was a wonderful step-mother, daughter and sister.
