Interred in the National Cemetery in Johnson City. Preceded in death by parents, Elder James Jackson Abbott and Martha Anderson Abbott; brother, James Jackson Abbott, half brother, John Henry Abbott. Survived by son, Joseph Abbott and wife, Shirley of Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter, Jenny Kimbrough and husband, Dean of Dayton, Ohio; four grandchildren and two brothers, Robert Avery Abbott, Watkinsville, Ga., William Thomas Abbott, Vonore; and half brother, William Woodrow Pennick, Dayton, Ohio. BROCK, CARL TATE - 88, of Oak Ridge passed away Thursday November 17, 2005 at Methodist Medical Center. He was born in Morgan County Tennessee to the late William Riley Brock, Sr. and Susie Jane Gann Brock. Mr. Brock retired from Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge (Department of Energy), in 1986 as a Quality Assurance Inspector after 38 years. He was a veteran of WWII and a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples) since 1950. He is survived by his wife, Virginia E. Brock of Oak Ridge; and daughters and sons-in- law Cathy Lynn Glass and husband Kenneth Dee of Oak Ridge, Vivian Sue Foster and husband Larry Steven of Lexington, KY, and Pamela Christine Baker and husband Joe Burl Baker, Jr. of Oak Ridge. Mr. Brock is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Sunday November 20, 2005 at 7 PM in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. He was a member of Robertsville Baptist Church. He served 4 years in the U. S. Army during the Normandy D-Day Invasion. He was employed at K-25/union Carbide from 1945 to 1984.
