From The Knoxville News Sentinel 29 Nov 2009 BUHL, EDNA MAE - age 75, of Powell HILL, NANCY PEARL - age 93 SMITH, VIRGINIA GLIDEWELL - age 85 of Lenoir City, BUHL, EDNA MAE - age 75, of Powell went home to be with the Lord Sunday, November 27, 2005 at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital. She was a member of Solway Baptist Church and was born December 24, 1929 in Knox County. Edna is preceded in death by husband, Elmer Buhl; son, Nathan Buhl; daughters, Linda Locklear and Paula Savage; parents, Charles and Pearlie Keys Norman; brother, Gaines Norman; sisters, Mary Armstrong, Anna Ruth Kirkland, and Geneva Norman. Survivors: sons, Charles & wife Fay Buhl of Knoxville, Alvin Buhl of Claxton; daughters, Alice & husband Donald Daugherty of Claxton, Patsy & husband Douglas Gose of Knoxville, Della Buhl of Claxton; grandchildren, Scott & wife Travis, Lisa Daugherty, Mindy & Ashley Savage, Kevin & Donna Buhl, Nicole Gose, Rene Thompson; great grandchildren, Haylee Daugherty, Dakota Dixon, Brandon and Jay Hawkins, Gage Decker; sister, Nellie Hopson of Knoxville. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. His funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday in the chapel with Rev. Ray Buchanan officiating. Her burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. Member of Sand Branch United Methodist Church. He was a 32 Degree Mason of Shekinah Masonic Lodge and retired from Texaco after 40 years of service. Preceded in death by son Roy Lynn Hill. Survived by wife Irene Hill of Knoxville; sons Jim D. Hill of Maryville, Larry A Hill and wife Karen of Sevierville; daughters Ann Hill Mowery and husband Wayne of Knoxville; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; brothers Carl Hill and wife Louise of Knoxville and Rich Hill and wife Joyce of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jerry Hill, Ronald Hill, Bill Bise, Roland Julian, Truett Hill and Carl Lusby. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Sand Branch United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Best and Rev. Becky Stephens officiating. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Virginia was retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory where she worked as a secretary. Preceded in death by husbands, Preston Glidewell and Grady Smith; son, Norman Glidewell and brother, Ernest Davidson. Survived by daughter, Carol Cable of Lenoir City; grandsons, Jason Cable and wife Jada of Maryville and Tony Glidewell of Wichita, KS; granddaughter, Angela Kean of Chattanooga; great grandson, Christopher Glidewell of Wichita, KS; sister, Judy Heaton and husband Wayne of Hawaii; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Loudon Co.
