From the Knoxville News Sentinel 13 Nov 2005 BRANSON, SARA NEEDHAM - age 65 of McLean, Virginia, BREEDING, HERBERT FRANKLIN - age 84 of Maynardville, BUNCH, SR., BRUCE E. - age 54, of Knoxville, JOHNSTON, ROY CHESTLEY, JR. - 79, of Oak Ridge, BRANSON, SARA NEEDHAM - age 65 of McLean, Virginia, passed away Wednesday evening, November 9, 2005 at home. She was born in Lake City, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Kenneth (Shorty) and Annabelle Needham. She was a past member of Church Street United Methodist Church in Knoxville and a current member of Trinity United Methodist Church of McLean, Virginia. She grew up in Knoxville and graduated from Fulton High School and the University of Tennessee. After receiving a degree in English she taught English literature and composition at Karns High School in Knox County. She lived in McLean, Virginia for 38 years. For several years she worked in National Security positions for Litton Industries and the Northrop Grumman Corp. She is survived by: husband, Hugh Branson of Knoxville; daughter, Katherine Branson of Nashville; companion, Malcolm Jones of McLean, Virginia; brother, Kenneth Needham and sister in law Pamela Needham of Knoxville; nephews, Kenneth Needham of Knoxville and Jason Needham of Nashville. Family and friends will meet Sunday at 1:45 p.m. for a 2:00 p.m. interment at Lynnhurst Cemetery with Rev. William J. Fowler officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be: Graham A. Hunter, H. Douglas Willard, Kenneth S. Needham Sr., Kenneth S. Needham Jr., Aubrey K. Needham Jr., and Richard F. Scruggs. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the home of Kenneth Needham, 2121 Cherokee Blvd in Knoxville. Arrangements by Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. BREEDING, HERBERT FRANKLIN - age 84 of Maynardville, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2005 at Fort Sanders Hospital of pneumonia after a long battle with cancer. He was a member of Alder Springs Baptist Church in Maynardville and had served as a deacon since 1970. He was born July 21, 1921. He worked with Sherman Concrete Pipe Machinery for twenty-five years and retired from Rust Engineering in Oak Ridge in 1984. He was preceded in death by his father, General Jacob Breeding; mother, Maggie Priscilla Breeding; and brothers, Cas and Mondo Breeding. He is survived by his wife, the former Martha Braden of Speedwell; children, Gail of Halls, Bill of Maynardville, Olen of Trussville, Ala., Cheryl Brown of Tazewell; five grandchildren, Tabitha, Billy, Karen, Cindy, David; seven great grandchildren and brothers, JR and Ermal Breeding of Maynardville. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2005 at Alder Springs Baptist Church in Maynardville, followed by funeral service at 8 p.m. with Reverend Jimmy Davidson officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday November 15, 2005 at Ailor Mortuary to go in procession to New Loyston Memorial Gardens for an 11 a.m. graveside service. Sanders Regional Medical Center. Bruce was a local musician in the Knoxville area. He is survived by son, Bruce Bunch, Jr. and wife, Kellie; daughter, Sara Bunch; granddaughter, Leea Shea Bunch and grandson, Coty Bolin. Arrangements are incomplete. Born on June 28, 1926 in Etowah, Tennessee to parents Roy Chestley Johnston, Sr. and Cullie Elizabeth Clendenen Johnston. He was a World War II veteran with the US Navy. Survivors include, wife, Mattie Biggs Johnston; son, Tim Johnston and wife, Tina all of Oak Ridge; daughter, Debbie Brandon and husband, Charles, Sierra Vista, Arizona; grandchildren, Matt Johnston, Kaleb and Jessica Russell. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, 2 PM in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with Rev. Duncan Rankin officiating. Interment will be at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family requests that memorials be in the form of donations to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 190 Manhattan Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
