From the Knoxville News Sentinel 27 Nov 2005 BRANAM, JAMES EDWARD - 67, of Jellico, TN, KEDL, ROBERT J. - age 76 of Knoxville, BRANAM, JAMES EDWARD - 67, of Jellico, TN, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2005, at the family residence. He was born January 17, 1938 at Jellico, TN. He retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company after over 23 years service as a sales representative. He was Chairman of Jellico Electric Board & former Chairman of the School Board. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Preceded in death by his parents, Elmore & Mabel Layne Branam and a sister-in- law, Wanda Broyles. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jana Daugherty Branam of Jellico; brothers, John R. Branam & wife, Betty, of Clinton, TN, Bill R. Branam & wife, Georgia, of Pioneer, TN; sisters-in-law, Leona Beasley, Lucille Haggard, Jeanie Parks & Carol Schultz; special nieces & nephews, John Elmore Branam, Karen (Beasley) Chewing, Gary Beasley, Nancy (Broyles) Johnson, Aaron Broyles, Ricky Parks, Michelle (Davis) Rakestraw & Chip Davis; a host of great nieces, great nephews, relatives and friends. Masonic services were presented by Jellico Lodge #527 F&AM followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at the First Baptist Church, Jellico, with Rev. Bob Jolly, Rev. Danny King & Rev. Michael Blankenship officiating. Interment followed in the Jellico Cemetery with Military Honors presented by Campbell County Honor Guard. The family requests memorials be sent to First Baptist Church, 545 S. Main Street, Jellico, TN 37762. Cox & Son Funeral Home in charge. KEDL, ROBERT J. - age 76 of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2005 at Colonial Hills Nursing Home. He was of the Roman Catholic faith. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a Chemical Engineer with ORNL for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Margaret Kedl. Survivors include his sons, Michael Kedl of Maryville and William Kedl of Evergreen, Colorado; former wife, Mary Kedl. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday, December 1, 2005 at Smith Mortuary, Maryville. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, December 2, 2005 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Father Alex Waraska officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.
