Greene, 96, living with his son and daughter-in-law, Wallace and Joyce Greene, for the last nine years, at 3420 Bardshar Road, Sandusky, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006. Greene Charles was born April 9, 1909, in La Follette, Tenn. He worked in the coal mines in Kentucky and Tennessee for 22 years. In 1948, he started his own business, Chas N. Greene Construction, building homes and remodeling. He retired in 1974 and turned the business over to his son, Stan, but continued to work until he was 86 years old. He is survived by seven daughters, Shirley (Mark) Miller, Louise (Joe) Limberios, Diane (Bill) Ohlemacher, Wanda (Todd) Moore, Margaret (Ron) Quillen, Darlene (Chuck) Coy, and Belinda (Will) Hoffman; eight sons, Joe (Carol), Stanley (Carol), Wallace (Joyce), Karl (Jackie), Raymond (Sherri), Kenny (Kelly), Bill (Elaine) and Ronnie Greene; 34 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Alma L. (Gilbert) Greene; two grandsons, Billy Ohlemacher Jr. and Aaron Greene; four brothers; and three sisters. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where private family services will be Wednesday with the Rev. David Flack, pastor of Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
