Anderson, age 58 of Jacksboro passed away Jan.1 at the St. Mary's Health System in Knoxville. He was a member of LaFollette Church of God. He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed Mopar's and any old cars and four wheelers. He was a Vietnam Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Sally Hill Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Anderson of Jacksboro; daughter and son in law, Tammy and Jamie Smith of Jacksboro; son, James Anderson of Jacksboro; brothers, J. Will Anderson and wife, Norma of Jacksboro, Ralph Anderson and wife, Odell of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Ruby Bostic of Flat Rock, MI, Mildred Clodgio of LaFollette; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Jan. 4 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Jeff Armstrong officiating. Interment was in the Woodlawn Cemetery. John Edward Cox, age 41 of 1515 Allen Lane, Hillsborough, died peacefully on Dec. 22, in Hospice at the Meadowlands. He was the son of the late John Elmer and Ruby Lee Lovett Cox. He was a graduate of Orange High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from NCCU in Durham, NC. He graduated with honors as a Magna Cum Laude recipient. He was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Elmer and Ruby Lee Lovett Cox; paternal grandparents, Edward and Etta Daugherty Cox of Caryville; maternal grandparents, Frank and Judith Dyke Lovett of LaFollette. He is survived by his daughter, Scarlette Ashley Cox and wife, Carol Chestnut Cox, both of Durham; parents, Jim and Bertha Lovett Carter, of Hillsborough; sisters, Deborah Cox Fox and husband, Willie, of Hillsborough and Erin Carter of Hillsborough; brothers, Larry Cox and David Carter and wife, Megan, of Hillsborough; aunts, Janet Lovett, of Hillsborough, Callie Lovett Stuart and husband, A.D., of Richmond, VA, Janie and Jim Head of Long Beach, MS, Nancy and Albert (Dude) Hickey of Jacksboro, Sue Cox Morton of LaFollette; uncles, J.T. Harvey Jr. age 44 of LaFollette passed away Dec. 25 at the U.T. Medical Center of Knoxville. He was of the Baptist faith. Ramsey was a loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also would help anyone in need. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramsey and Barbara Thacker Harvey. He is survived by his wife, April Harvey of LaFollette; son, Ryan Austin Harvey of Kingsport; brother, Ransey R. She was a member of First Apostolic Church of LaFollette. She loved cooking, housekeeping, flower gardening and her family very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Marie Hickey Heatherly. He was a beloved son who would light up a room with his smile. He was such a good baby. He will be greatly missed by everyone who came in contact with him. He was the owner and operator of Eagle Bluff Realty, the former owner of Hutson Variety Store and formerly with Powell 5 and 10 Cent Store. He was a member of the LaFollette First Baptist Church, LaFollette Masonic Lodge #623 F and AM, Royal Arch Chapter 212 and Knoxville Council #76 Cryptic Masons. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Nona Hutson; sister, Imogene. He is survived by his wife, Ricky Hutson of Jacksboro; children, Robert Neil Hutson and wife, Leslie of Clinton, Tony Hutson of NC and Becky Brown and husband, Frank of NC; grandchildren, Melissa Brown, Billy Brown, Megan Hutson, all of NC, Conner Hutson and Neil Hutson, both of Clinton; former wife, Betty Payne Heatherly of NC; several other relatives and friends. Etta Rachel "Williams" Miles, age 97 of LaFollette passed away Dec. 28 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a member of Demory Baptist Church. She was an avid fisherwoman and an excellent cook. She loved flowers, gardening, crocheting and making quilts. She also loved her family very much. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Miles; parents, Henry H. and Margaret Buckles Williams; brothers, Abner, Mitchell, Bill and Arlie Williams; sisters, Linda Carruba, Maude Salling, Tishie Chandler, Katherine and Emmy Williams. He retired from General Motors in Anderson, IND in 1992, where he worked in the boiler room before moving to this area. He loved Nascar, working on cars and talking on the CB, with the handle 151. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Miller of LaFollette, children, Elaine Draise of OH, Lisa Marino of FLA, Kim Cook of Jacksboro, Kelly Abston of Nashville, Richard McCullah of Oneida and Ronald Paul of Knoxville; mother, Neva Miller of IND; Helen Rains of KY; brother, Roger Miller of IND; 16 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was owner and operator, with his brother Marion Shelby and son Glenn, of Shelby Grocery Store for over 60 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of LaFollette. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson H. Shelby and Samantha McNeeley Shelby; stepmother; Martha Shelby; brothers, Marion, Luther and Bill Shelby; sisters, Nora Robbins, Maggie Miller, Hettie Housley, Stella Heatherly, Mary Housley, Alma Snodderly Sebaugh, Ann Blankenship and Vietta Miller. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman, and thoroughly enjoyed nature. He was a member of the Eagles Club. He loved his dog, Sassy. He enjoyed spending time in the mountains and loved his family very much.
