Nadine Slaven, age 78 years, Strunk, Kentucky died August 15, 2004. Funeral services were held Thursday, August 19, 2004 at McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Waters officiating. Burial was in Slaven Family Cemetery. She was born June 7, 1926 at Rinnie, Tennessee the daughter of the late Eddie and Margaret Lee Todd Stephens. She was a homemaker and member of Ross Grove United Baptist Church. Her parents and her husband, Gilbert Slaven precede her in death. Frank D. Slaven is the deceased son. Survivors include her children, Gilbert Slaven, Jr., Strunk, Kentucky; Deborah Lewis and husband, Jeremy and Nancy Barber all of Muncie, Indiana and Ettalea Cormican, Mentoe, Indiana. Mescal Matthews, Strunk, Kentucky and Chestaline Waters, Attica, Indiana are the surviving sisters. Six grandchildren and three great grandchildren survive. McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements. Gilbert's parents & grandparents are buried in the Marcum Cemetery, Oneida, Scott Co., TN.
