    3. Crossville Chronicle obit Published January 27, 2006 Malcolm E. Sower Jan. 22, 2006 Malcolm E. Sower, 88, passed away Jan. 22, 2006, at his home in Crossville, TN. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 26 at Jones and Son Funeral Home, Oneida, TN. A graveside service followed at Chitwood Cemetery, Winfield, TN. Services were officiated by Pastor Fred Ward of Heritage Baptist Church, LaFollette, TN, and Pastor Bob Schoolfield of Victory Baptist Church. Mr. Sower was born in Scottsville, MI, and resided for 45 years in Temperance, MI, before moving to Crossville in 1990. He served as an Army sergeant in the South Pacific during World War II. He was employed for over 40 years by the Lathrop Co., Toledo, OH, retiring in 1985 as project superintendent. He was a current member of Victory Baptist Church, Crossville, and was a long-time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Toledo, OH, where he served for 43 years and was instrumental in supervising various early church building programs. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Lucille; daughters, Dawn Sower, Deborah (Dave) Wokaty of Rensselaer, NY, and Diane (Dana) Smoke of Canton, GA; son, David (Rebecca) Sower of Cedar Hill, TN; grandchildren, Madeline Sower, Lauren Smoke, Kelsey Smoke, Emily Smoke, Erin Sower, Sarah Wokaty, Hannah Wokaty and Luke Sower; brother, Christopher; and sister, Floy Sower Shank. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Dorothy; brothers, William, Paul and Donald; and sisters, Naomi Sower Cramer and Lucy Sower Anderson. Mr. Sower was followed in death the same day by his brother, Edson.
