Jim I respectfully want to ask questions about Richard Crabtree and Sarah Richardson of TN?KY, + 2 F i. Sarah CRABTREE was born on 17 Mar 1792. IF this birthdate is right, then this woman has another mother, other than Sarah Richardson or she was born out of wed-lock. It has been supected for sometime that Richard Crabtree was married before he married Sarah Richardson. NO proff. Chloe Coil lives in Clinton Co., KY 1850 dist #1 H.H. # 238 page 172, and Sarah Crabtree 75 resides in this household. In the census Chloe is spelled CLOY/CLAY. In 1860 Cloy Coil is in Scott Co., TN dist. # 1 H.H. # 372. In 1855 Sarah Crabtree applies for a land bounty as the widow of Richard Crabtree, who died June 29, 1849, Sarah at that time was a resident of Clinton Co., KY and appointed Wm. F. Davis as her attorney. Therefore the Rev. War Richard Crabtree, likely did not marry anyone else. However, there is a will in Campbell Co., TN of a Richard Crabtree in the deed records, That I can not find at this time, but it had a Louise Crabtree mentioned in it. This "will" was in about 1845, I beleive there were two sons and two daughters. I use to know who Louisa married, but can't find that at this time. Have you talked to LaValda Faull, she has some of the same information you have and she is a good researcher. I think the Richard Crabtree who married Sarah Terry or co-habited with her was a son of Old Richard, and that he had been married before, but to whom I do not know. I haven't looked at most of this information for years, after I found that he was not my direct ancestor, but likely and older brother. Wilma Gibson
