These are the obituaries from the Scott County News, Vol. 89, No. 6, Thursday, January 12, 2006, Page 8: VIDA LOUISE SHOEMAKER WALKER, 79, of Elgin passed away on January 8 at the Scott County Hospital in Oneida. She was the daughter of the late Farrow Shoemaker and the late Mable Brewster Shoemaker. She was a member of the Seven Day Adventist Church in Lextington and a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Walker and Jerry Walker; one brother, Ray Shoemaker; and one sister, Thelma Shoemaker; one brother-in-law, Roy Branim. She is survived by her husband, Russell Walker; four brothers, Charles Shoemaker and wife Doris of Elgin, Harold Shoemaker and wife Vonell of Colorado, Wayne Shoemaker and wife Janet of Glenmary, and Marty Shoemaker and wife Brenda of Robbins; five sisters, Reba Branim of Dayton, Oh., Donna Bowling and Stoney Stonecipher of Huntsville, Ruth Burchfield and husband Esau, Jr., Margaret Crabtree and husband Ted of Ind., and Patty Lynch of Elgin; and many other relatives and friends. Fun! eral services were conducted January 12 at 12 noon in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Oneida with Pastor Harold Kuebler officiating. Special music was provided by Brenda, Brent, and Leslie Shoemaker. Burial followed in the Hawn Shoemaker Cemetery in Elgin. Pallbearers were the nephews. Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida was in charge of the arrangements. RAYMOND LEVI STANLEY, 62, of Oneida, passed away on January 8 at the Scott County Hospital. He was the son of the late Hester Stanley and Gertrude Pauline Phillips Stanley. He was a member of the Pentecost Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Algwyn Stanley. He is survived by his brother, Delbert Stanley and wife Wilma of Lebanon, Ind., sister, Doris Reddy and husband James of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; several nieces, nephes, and great nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted on Janaury 11 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of West Murley Funeral Home with Rev. James O. Laxton officiating. Interment was in the Abner Thomas Cemetery. West-Murley Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
