    2. From the Knoxville News Sentinel 5 Oct 2005 AIKENS, MR. CHARLES E. "CHUCK" - age 66 of Harriman, CHRISTIE, FRANCIS O. "F.O." - age 84, of Harriman, LORENZEN, RICHARD FREDRICK - age 58 of Andersonville, AIKENS, MR. CHARLES E. "CHUCK" - age 66 of Harriman, passed away early Tuesday morning October 4, 2005 at his home. He was a life long resident of Harriman and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Chuck owned and operated Aikens Cab in Harriman where he served the community for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time outdoors He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Edith Brown Aikens. He is survived by his life long companion, Imogene Armes; one son and daughter in law Chuck and Tina Aikens; one daughter and son in law, Sheila and Jay Johnson; three grandchildren, Chaz and Dylan Aikens and Makayla Johnson; four step grandchildren, Kelsey Jo, Janaye, Katie and Ashley Bergquist; two brothers, Donnie and Jimmy Aikens; one sister, Patricia Aikens; three nieces, four nephews and a host of friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends Friday evening October 7, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home in Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. Arrangements by Davis Funeral Home of Harriman. CHRISTIE, FRANCIS O. "F.O." - age 84, of Harriman, passed away peacefully Sunday October 2, 2005 at the Baptist West Hospital. Francis was an active member of Kern Memorial Methodist Church and was married to Helen Goddard Christie for the past 62 years. He served with the United States Army Air Corps in WWII. He moved to Oak Ridge in 1953 where he began work with what was then called A. E.C. and retired from Department of Energy at the age of 59. He lived in Oak Ridge until moving full time to his lake home in 1989. Francis was an avid camper and spent many years as a Scuba Diver Instructor. Along with his wife Helen they enjoyed traveling and frequently traveled to the Caribbean and the Hawaiian Islands. A member of the Kiwanis Club, he was active in the community and enjoyed volunteering with the prison ministry at Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary. He was active providing Christmas and Thanksgivings to needy families for many years. He had enjoyed excellent health until the past several months, and was physically active till his illness late this summer. He was a loving and supportive father and family man, and will be missed deeply by those who loved and knew him. Survivors include his wife Helen Christie of Harriman; sons and daughters-in-law Bob and Debbie Christie of Oak Ridge, Keith and Andrea Christie of Olinda, Maui, Hawaii, and Steve and Kim Christie of Harriman; his brother and sister-in-law Elliot and Grace Christie of Chicago, IL; grandchildren Robert Christie II, April Hendrickson, Carter Christie, Cole Christie, Kaylie Christie, Chancey Caruthers, Jarrid Gray; great grandson Tyler Bryce Nitsche, and Heather Gray; and niece Lynn Christie. Funeral services will be held Friday October 7, 2005 1:00 pm at Kern Memorial Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. He was a member of St. Frances Episcopal Church in Norris, TN. Survivors: wife, Janis; two daughters, Rachel Gabuat of Hawaii, Rebekah Odeneal of Knoxville; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kate, Emily, Zach, Nicholas, Olivia; step mother, Maxine Lorenzen; two sisters; one brother; two stepsons; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2005, with funeral services to follow at 8:00 p.m. at Cooke Mortuary Chapel. Father Christopher Chase officiating.
