From the Knoxville News Sentinel 31 Oct 2005 KEGLEY, TRACY MITCHELL, JR. - 82, of Powell, KEGLEY, TRACY MITCHELL, JR. - 82, of Powell, a native of Birmingham, Alabama and a long-time resident of Anderson County, passed away on October 30, 2005 at Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon and Elder. Mr. Kegley was a graduate of Birmingham Southern College and the University of Alabama, and was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. He worked at Southern Research in Birmingham prior to working at Oak Ridge National Lab. He retired from Martin Marietta in 1982. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War 11 and was stationed in Guam. He is preceded in death by: parents, Tracey Mitchell Kegley, Sr. and Willie Inez Adams Kegley; brother, Fulton Garton Kegley; sisters, Ruby Kegley and Florence Kegley. Survivors include: his wife of 47 years, Lottie Irene Coward Kegley, Powell; son, Joseph Kegley, Charlotte, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law, William and Molly Kegley, Clinton, Tennessee; grandchildren, Mary Kate Kegley and Anna Kegley, Clinton, Tennessee; sister and brother-in-law, Eugenia and Ted Barfoot of Adamsville, Alabama; nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 11 a.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church with Dr. Duncan Rankin officiating. The family requests that memorials be in the form of donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 2200 Southerland Ave., Knoxville, TN 37919. Burial will be at the Jonesville Methodist Church Cemetery in Roane County. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday evening at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge.
