From the Knoxville News Sentinel 28 Oct 2005 BARKMAN, MARION COYLE - O'DELL, MARIE LAWSON - age 94 of Alcoa BARKMAN, MARION COYLE - went to her rest on October 11, 2005 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Born September 23, 1914 in Cumberland, MD, she was the wife of the late Robert Chester Barkman of Cumberland. A resident of the Oak Ridge Retirement Community, she is survived by: her son, Donald F. Barkman and his family of Oak Ridge. Mrs. Barkman lived most of her life in Cumberland, MD and joined St. Mary's Parish when she moved to Oak Ridge in 2001. A memorial mass will be celebrated for her at St. Mary's Catholic Church on November 1, 2005 at 12:10pm. A full funeral and interment will be arranged through Sts. O'DELL, MARIE LAWSON - age 94 of Alcoa passed away Thursday, October 27, 2005. She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Alcoa. She was a member of the Prudence Chapter #270 of The Order of the Eastern Star where she received her 50-year membership. She was a very dedicated and devoted wife, mother, and a family oriented person. She was a retired school teacher having taught 38 years, 21 years in Scott County and 17 years in the Alcoa School System. Throughout her life, she influenced and had a great impact on many people's lives. Preceded in death by: parents, Frank and Kezziah Williams; first husband, Clyde Lawson; sister, Macel Jeffers. Survivors include: husband, John O'Dell; daughter, Velva L. Jones & husband Walton of Atlanta, GA; son, Steve Lawson of Helenwood, TN; stepdaughter, Martha Conley & husband Randal; stepsons, Coley O'Dell & wife Judy, Tom O'Dell & wife Debbie; grandchildren, Tami L. Bartlett, Tina L. Smith, Julie J. Ohnstad; 4 great grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren; brothers, Walter H. Williams, Julian E. Williams, and Rhonda P. Williams; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 29, 2005 at Jones & Son Funeral Home in Oneida, Tennessee. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM with Rev. Landon Sexton and Jerry Jeffers officiating. Interment will follow at Carson Memorial Park.
