Tackett, age 77 of Lake City John Philman Walden, age 58 of LaFollette Rosa Mae Wilson, age 86 of Caryville, From the LaFollette Press 30 Sep 2005 Isaac "Sack" Braden, age 84 of Briceville passed away Sept. 24 at his residence. He was born July 14, 1921 to the late Mose and Haley Brown Braden. He was a member of the Briceville First Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cleta Hatmaker Braden; son, Delbert Braden; brothers, Charlie, Jim, Bill, Robert and Lige Braden; sisters, Lizzie Ward, Maudie Hooks, Darcus Goins, Lillie Davis and Rosa Caughron. He is survived by his granddaughter, Chessica Ferguson of Lake City; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services were Sept. 25 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in the Brown Cemetery in Briceville with full military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard. Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Nellie Richardson Conner, age 88 of Baltimore, MD, formerly of LaFollette passed away Sept. 24. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Conner; daughter, Lynda Conner; parents, John Roy Richardson and Nelia Buckner Richardson; brothers, Warren Richardson, John Roy Richardson, Jr., James Winfrey Richardson, and U.W. (Bill) Richardson. She is survived by her granddaughter, Shannon Page of Greenville; brothers, Walter Richardson and wife, Lois, of LaFollette, Hugh Richardson of LaFollette, and George Donald Richardson and wife, Mary of Buena Vista, CA; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Sept. 29 at Bakers Forge Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Richardson officiating. Walters Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Alma N. Foust "Nehi", age 84 of Lake City passed away Sept. 22 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was born Dec. 8, 1920 in Scott County. She was a member of the Cumberland View Baptist Church. She loved flowers, enjoyed cooking, reading her Bible, listening to gospel music and spending time with her children and grandchildren whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Lydia Byrd; husband, Wesley Foust; son, Terry "Botchie" Foust; brother, Donavan Byrd. She is survived by her sons, Gerald Foust and wife, Lavon of Hiram, GA, Ricky Foust and wife, Tammy of Lake City, Pastor Mike Foust and wife, Freida of Lake City; daughters, Shirley Forner of Irvine, TX, Sue Maples and husband, Robert of Valprasio, IN, Sharon Neal and husband, Vernon of Silver Point, TN; brother, Kermit Byrd and wife, Louise of Lake City; sisters, Trelis Stevens and husband, Steve of Clinton, Macel Kesterson of Lake City; daughter in law, Diane Foust of Lake City; 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. William F. (Bill) Humphrey, age 80 of LaFollette passed away Sept. 24 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was born March 27, 1925 in Wallins Creek, KY, the son of the late Frank E. and Edna Mae House Humphrey. He was retired from General Motors and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Michigan and he believed in the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack, Ted and Jimmy Humphrey. He is survived by his sisters, Peggy Tweed of LaFollette and Barbara Tweed of LaFollette; nieces, Vicky Howard of Harlan, KY and Sharon K. Boyes of Knoxville; nephews, Mike Tweed of Knoxville and Ed Tweed of Muskegeon, MI; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Sept. 27 at the Creech Funeral Home with the Rev. Landon Lane and Rev. Lee Ray officiating. Interment was in the Resthaven Cemetery. Creech Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Samuel David Marlow, Sr., age 89 of Xenia, OH passed away at Hospitality East on Sept. 25. He was born to the late Jimmy and Amanda Marlow in Habersham. He was a veteran of World War II and an independent painting contractor. He was an Associate Minister at Zion Temple in Spring Valley for 14 years and has been a pastor for several Pentecostal churches. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a well known gospel singers and musician and hosted a gospel radio program call Glad Tidings, which aired on WQRP in the late 1980's through the 1990's. Glad Tidings eventually became a program on cable access in Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky and Florida. He was preceded in death by his son, Samuel Marlow, Jr.; brothers, Nathan, Dan, Mitchell and Jim Marlow; sisters, Lula Oliver, Pearl Martin and Mae Archer. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Lillian Marlow of Xenia, OH; daughter, Katherine Marlow of Nancy, KY; several grandchildren, great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and one sister in law. He had many friends across America. Funeral services were held Sept. 29 at Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel with Pastor Don Warnock officiating. Interment was in the Valley View Memorial Gardens. Tobias Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Floyd Cecil "Pudge" Miller, age 45 of LaFollette passed away Sept. 26 at the U.T. Medical Center. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Hobert Miller, Sr; mother, Mildred V. Goodman Miller; brother, Hobert C. Miller; half-brother, Jim Lindsey; grandparents, Avery and Tennessee Boshears Goodman. Sophia Marie Richardson, age 79 of LaFollette passed away Sept. 21 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was very dedicated to her Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Richardson; parents, Andy and Almeadie William Gross; brothers, Hubert, Virgil, Roy, Bufford and Donnie Gross; sisters, Maude Phillips, Pearlie Nickelson, Georgia Lindsay and Arizona Gross. He was born Aug. 4, 1928 in Anderson County. He was a member of Cumberland Mountain Baptist Church, also known as the "Swag." He enjoyed the outdoors and especially enjoyed gardening, whittling, ginseng, listening to bluegrass and gospel singing and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Boss and Retha Duncan Tackett; brother, Floyd Tackett; sister, Marie Lindsay; special friend, Clyde "Burrheaad" Carroll. He is survived by his wife, Thelma M. Tackett of Lake City; sons, Charlie Tackett and wife, Kay of Lake City, Mike Tackett and wife, Vicky of Lake City; brothers, Virgil Tackett and wife, Martha of Caryville, Bill Tackett and wife, Mollie of Clinton; sister, Mary Loyd and husband, Arthur "Sonny" of Clinton; grandchildren, Chris, Deana and Michael Jr.; great grandchildren, Tyler, Mary Beth, Grace, Connor and Hunter; several nieces and nephews and many friends. He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, mountains, and blue grass music. He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Ray Walden; parents, Floyd and Rosie Wilson Walden; brother, Everett Walden; sister, Rita Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Walden; sons, Ricky Johnson, Charlie, Floyd, and Louie Walden; daughters, Trish Allen, JoAnne Walden; 11 grandchildren; sister, Leona Miller all of LaFollette; very special daughter in law, Jane Walden; special friend, Wayne Madron; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Sept. 21 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Randy Comer and Rev. Lee Phillips officiating. Interment was Sept. 22 in Walden Cemetery. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ulysses L. Wilson; parents, Alvis and Lanie McGhee Hembree; brothers, James and Dewey Hembree. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Adams of Caryville, Betty Jean Beech and husband, Roy of Fla, Juanita Cockron and husband, Buster of Cleveland, OH; son, Ulysses L. Wilson, Jr. and wife, Priscilla of Fla; 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great grandchild; sisters, Mabel Torres, Della Jobe and Jean Jarvis, all of Caryville; brothers, Charles and Fred Hembree, both of PA; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
