From the Knoxville News Sentinel 27 Sep 2005 HILL, ALMA KATHRYN "KATY" WOOD - JOYNER, GERALDINE McGHEE - age 81 of Petros, HILL, ALMA KATHRYN "KATY" WOOD - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alma Kathryn "Katy" Wood Hill, age 75, of Clinton, who passed away Sunday, September 25, 2005 at Methodist Medical Center. She was a member of Sinking Springs United Methodist Church. Katy is preceded in death by: parents, Edward Wood & Edith Perkins Wood Hillon; brother, Eddie Wood; sisters, Ann Wood, Mary Uland, and Gene Weaver. She leaves behind: her husband, Jack Hill of Clinton; daughters, Kathy Braun & husband Jim of Knoxville, Jackie Stephan & husband Bob of Norris, Beth Hill of Clinton; grandsons, TJ Luttrell of Clinton, Robert Stephan of Norris, Jonathan and Justin Braun of Knoxville; sisters, Mildred Watson of Knoxville, Christine Wallace of Oak Ridge, Betty Settle of Knoxville; many nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at Holley- Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services following in the Chapel with Rev. Lisa Stone and Rev. Ernest Wright officiating. Her burial will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at Norris Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 900 E. Hill Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37915 or Sinking Springs United Methodist Church, 108 Bland Road, Clinton, TN 37716. Katy always had a song in her heart and never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. JOYNER, GERALDINE McGHEE - age 81 of Petros, passed away suddenly at the Methodist Medical Center on Sunday, September 25, 2005. She was a member of Petros Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for several years. She was past Worthey Matron of the Sunrise Chapter Order of the Eastern Star serving as Chaplin. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Garfield and Cordelia McGhee; infant son, Vaughn Martin; brothers, Millard, Jolly, Simpson and Carl McGhee; sisters, Ruth Asbury, Bessie Ball and Janice Hagg. She is survived by: her husband of 58 years, Ira V. Joyner of Petros; daughter, Toni Lynn Herdlein of Atlanta; sons, Larry David Joyner of Indiana and Charles W. Joyner of Petros; sister, Florence Wilson of Jacksboro. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 28, 2005 from 6-8 pm at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 2 pm with Bro. Jim West officiating.
