From the Oak Ridger 13 Sep 2005 Nevie J. Barton Jr., 63, of Clinton, Sylvia Russell, 85, a resident of Oliver Springs, Nevie J. Barton Jr., 63, of Clinton, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville. He was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Clinton and retired from Martin Marietta/Y-12 as a machinist. Nevie was preceded in death by his parents, Nevie Barton Sr. and Classie Mayes Barton; and brother, Matthew Barton. He is survived by his wife, Janet Elaine Barton of Clinton; daughters, Lana Golden and husband Eddie of Knoxville, and Ramonda Barton and Nevetta Barton of Cleveland, Ohio; stepdaughter, Tanisha and husband Rayford of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, LaSandra and Blake Golden of Knoxville, Durant Moss, Jarrell, Diamond, Derrick, and Jamar Barton of Cleveland, Ohio. He is also survived by brothers, Lincoln Barton and wife Marcia of Clinton, Curley Barton of Clinton; sister, Betty McKinley of Clinton; devoted nieces, Yelonda and husband Tauhid Poindexter, Ivoree and husband Tommy Taylor, LaTara Hall, Jasma Porter, Courtney Bounds, Michele Barton, Marci Barton, Alexys Barton, Meira Taylor and Trinity Watson; devoted nephews, Xalan Taylor, Nathaniel Watson, Kamrin Mack, Christopher Mack, and Trinity Watson; sister-in-laws, Denise and husband John Scruggs, Patricia and husband Terry Mack, Katina Bounds, Kathy and husband Earl Watson, LaNaka and husband Donny Hall, and Treva Bounds; brother-in-laws, Phillip Bounds, Ralph Bounds, Corey Bounds, and Marlon and wife Sherita Bounds; mother-in-law, Jessie Bounds; devoted aunt, Inez Johnson; and a host of relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church with funeral services to follow. Burial will follow the funeral at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. Sylvia Russell, 85, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005, at the home of her daughter in Wartburg.
