MARTIN, TROY DAVIS - age 83, of Clinton, passed away Friday, December 30, 2005 at his residence. He was a member of Second Baptist Church and a member of East Laport Masonic Lodge in Cullowhee, North Carolina. Troy was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II. He is preceded in death by wife, Birdell Martin; parents, John & Julia Green Martin; sisters, Maude Watts and Annie Henry; brothers, John Martin Jr. and Charles Martin. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. REYNOLDS, EUNICE KEMPE - 99, of Oak Ridge, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2005 at the Methodist Medical Center. Mrs. Reynolds was born August 9, 1906 in DeSoto, Missouri to John Frederick Kempe and Florence Hamilton Kempe. She moved to Oak Ridge in 1945, where she was a member of the first all women's heavy duty rescue squad. She was a personnel manager for Miller's Department Store for a number of years, and also sold Real Estate and Insurance in Oak Ridge. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge in DeSoto, Missouri for 50 years. She was a talented pianist who performed on riverboats and played in the band for the St. Louis Cardinals. She wrote "Blue and Oh So Lonely", sung by Bing Crosby. Mrs. Reynolds was a member of Kern Memorial United Methodist Church. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William L. Reynolds, son William F. Donnell, sister, Mildred Kempe Mahn, and nephews, Phil and Bernie Mahn. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Donnell Argo of Oak Ridge; a step-son, William Reynolds, Jr. of Medina, OH; grandchildren, William F. Argo and wife, Judy of Johnson City, Robert W. Argo and wife, Janice of Oak Ridge, Jan Yates and husband, Keith of Johnson City; three great-grandchildren, Erin Elizabeth and Kirstie Nicole Woodby of Johnson City and Abby Elizabeth Argo of Austin, Texas. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 31, 2005 at 5:00 pm at Weatherford Mortuary with Rev. E.C. Vestal officiating. Harold was born September 28, 1945 in Oneida and has lived in Knoxville the past 37 years. Harold was known as husband, daddy, "Pop", brother and son. He will always be remembered for his caring heart and huge smile. We will miss him very much! Harold will be remembered as "Snuffy" to the loving family at U.P.S. where he retired from after 31 years. TATE, PARIS SUTTON, JR. - age 81 of Knoxville, a native of Scott County, son of the late Paris Sutton Tate and Viola Laxton Tate Toomey and step father Fred Toomey, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at his home. He was a member of Huntsville Presbyterian Church, Scott County, and a graduate of the University of Tennessee, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Paris was a Navy Veteran of World War II where he served in the Pacific Theater. He retired as owner-operator of Kwik Kopy Printers on Kingston Pike. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Betty Hudson. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann Williams Tate of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Bridget and Daniel "Buddy" Terry of Griffin, Georgia; son, Paris Sutton Tate, III of Knoxville; grandchildren, Brent Terry and wife Leeann, Amanda Hayes and husband T.J.; great grandchildren, Jacob, Cooper and Kaitlyn; brother-in-law, Robert M. Williams of Byrdstown, TN; and many extended family and friends of Scott County.
