Mr Elie Massengale, 68, RT 2, River Hill Community, died at 7:40 a.m. Sunday in Unicol County Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mr MAssengale was a native of Scott-County and had lived in Erwin most of his life. He was a retired miner and a member of Unaka Springs Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Vannie Cross Massengale; one brother, Elijah; three sisters, Mrs. Lena Hicks, Glen Murray, Mrs. Mary Jane Lowe and Mrs. Sylvania West, Oneida; and several nieces and nephews.
