JANICE LONG - age 69, of Wichita, Kansas, formerly of Petros, ORICK, JAMES Y. - age 75 of LaFollette, QUINN, C. BENNIE AUSMUS - age 74, Tucson, AZ, DAVIS, MRS. ELSIE LOUISE DAUTEL - age 88 of Wartburg, born on January 26, 1917 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 23, 2005 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was a life long and devoted member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Wartburg, a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League; graduate of Knoxville Business College. She was an active member of the Wartburg Senior Citizens Club and a member of the Society of the Red Hat Club. Elsie was known as a hard worker all her life. During her career she worked as a secretary for Morgan County Court Clerk Ralph Davis, Wartburg Post Office, Schubert Motor Company, Morgan County Road Superintendent Mitt Dyer, Ford Motor Company and after working at Union Carbide (Y-12) for 19 years, she owned and operated Davis Meat and Slaughterhouse until her retirement in 1989. At that time she continued her hard work and passion for gardening by growing many flowers and vegetables. She was very devoted to all her family and will be truly missed by all of those who knew her. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Albert Cordell Davis; parents, Richard and Rosa Heidel Dautel; sisters, Anna Marie Heidel and Otillia Strunk; brother, Edgar J. Dautel; nephew, Billy Gene Strunk. She is survived by: her loving daughter and son-in-law, Alberta and Roger Long of Wartburg, TN; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Alisia and Douglas Freels of Wartburg, TN, Andrea and Brad Bingham of Cookeville, TN; great- grandchildren, Anna and Allison Freels, Addison and Brock Bingham; brothers, Richard G. Dautel and wife Martha of Knoxville, TN, James W. Dautel and wife Margaret of Wartburg, TN; nephews, Paul Richard and Gary Michael Strunk, Tommy and Paul F. Dautel, Jerry, Eddie and Dwayne Dautel; niece, Teresa Dautel. The family will receive friends Monday evening, December 26, 2005 at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg, TN from 6-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning, December 27, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wartburg. Internment will follow in Wartburg City Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wartburg, TN. HURT, MRS. JANICE LONG - age 69, of Wichita, Kansas, formerly of Petros, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2005. Janice was born September 28, 1936 in Petros, Tenn. She graduated from Central High School in Wartburg and worked in Ohio and Kansas most of her life. She was a member of Petros Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Al Hurt, parents, Riley and Bessie France Long; sisters, Kay Bradshaw, Geneva Melroy and Herelene Dickens; brothers, Ed Long, Alvin Long, Owen Long, Orton (Slick) Long, Gilbert Long, Harold Long and Floyd (Hoot) Long . Surviving; daughter, Michele Rashidian, of Kansas; son; Michael Hurt, of Ohio; grandchildren, Christopher and Sophia, of California, and Guy Hurt, of Ohio; sister; Mary Davis, of Petros; brother; Rev. Don Long and Nora, of Knoxville; sisters-in-law; Della Long, Doris Long and Judy Long, and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be nephews. The family will receive friends, Monday, December 26, 2005, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Don Long officiating. Graveside services will be held Tuesday 11 a.m. in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Rockwood, Tn. ORICK, JAMES Y. - age 75 of LaFollette, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2005 at Lake City Health Center. He was of the Baptist faith, U.S. Army Veteran, retired from U. S. Dept. of Defense. Member of Valley Star Masonic Lodge, a Shrine & Scottish Rite Mason. Preceded in death by: parents, Fred & Addie Woodson Orick. Survivors: brother & wife, Harold & Diana Orick, New Market, Al; nieces, Sherry, Wanda & Laura; 2 grand nephews; 3 grand nieces; 1 great-grand nephew; a host of cousins & friends. Funeral service 8 p.m. Monday, Cross Chapel, Rev. Don Reynolds officiating. Masonic service at 7:45. Interment 10 a.m. Tuesday Fincastle Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-7:45 p.m. Monday at Cross Funeral Home. QUINN, C. BENNIE AUSMUS - age 74, Tucson, AZ, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2005. She was born July 10, 1931. Parents were Harvey Lee and Gretna Childress Ausmus, deceased. She spent her childhood years in Lafollette, TN. She graduated from Sweetwater High School. Bennie was selected "Miss Teenage Sweetwater" and participate in the "Miss Teenage Pageant held in Knoxville at the Tennessee Theater. She graduated from Virginia Intermont College, Bristol. She represented V.I. at the Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester, VA. Bennie attended East Tennessee State College. She married B. Ray Quinn of Alabama, deceased. They lived most of their lives in Utah. Bennie returned to Johnson City to care for her mother for several years. She is survived by: her daughters, Leigh McLeod and Diane (Jay) Stallings of Tucson, Cindy (Craig) Westoby, Portersville, California. Also, Jackie (Joe) Wood, Riverton, Utah. There are 17 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. Other survivors: sister, Peggy Ausmus (Bill) Blankenship, Knoxville; and brother, Harry Jack (Lin) Ausmus, Cheshire, CT; several aunts, nieces and nephews survive. A celebration of her life was held and she was buried next to her husband, Ray, in Tucson on October 14, 2005.
