He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Korea Conflict. He was a member of the United States Pipe Fitters Association. He also enjoyed canning food from his garden, and fishing. He was a very kind hearted man and enjoyed everyone he met. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He received numerous awards while he was employed at Lockheed Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Jessie Hill Bailey. He is survived by his wife, Diane Bailey; son, Joe Bailey Jr.; sons and daughters in law, David and Cindy Bailey all of LaFollette, Michael and Mandy Bailey of Friendsville, TN; son, Toby Joseph Bailey of LaFollette; daughter, Sheena Bailey of Caryville; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; brothers, Franklin Bailey of LaFollette, Dennis Bailey of Xenia, OH, Eddie Bailey of LaFollette; sister, Linda Heatherly of LaFollette; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services were Nov. 22 in the Martin Wilson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Glenn C. Baird, age 89 of Jellico passed away Nov. 26 at the Beech Tree Manor. He was preceded in death by his son, Etheridge Baird. He is survived by his sons, Greg Baird and wife, JoAnn of Corbin, KY and Thurman Baird of LaFollette; daughter, Glenda Brewster and husband, Randy of Jellico; nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; sister in law, Katherine Baird of Jellico Creek, KY; a host of other relatives and friends. James Edward Branam, 67, of Jellico passed away Nov. 23 at the family residence. He was born Jan. 17, 1938 at Jellico. He retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company after over 23 years service as a sales representative. He was Chairman of Jellico Electric Board and former Chairman of the School Board. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmore and Mabel Layne Branam and a sister-in-law, Wanda Broyles. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jana Daugherty Branam of Jellico; brothers, John R. Branam and wife, Betty, of Clinton, Bill R. Branam and wife, Georgia, of Pioneer; sisters-in-law, Leona Beasley, Lucille Haggard, Jeanie Parks and Carol Schultz; special nieces and nephews, John Elmore Branam, Karen (Beasley) Chewing, Gary Beasley, Nancy (Broyles) Johnson, Aaron Broyles, Ricky Parks, Michelle (Davis) Rakestraw and Chip Davis; a host of great nieces, great nephews, relatives and friends. Branson, age 62 of Speedwell passed away Nov. 21 at St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. He was born Dec. 8, 1942. He was a retired commercial refrigeration and technician and had been employed by Coca-Cola bottling. He was preceded in death by his father, Eager Branson; father in law, Arthur Shell; nephew, Daniel R. He was of the Baptist Faith and a veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a builder and construction superintendent and retired from the LaFollette Housing Authority. He was a member of the Jacksboro Masonic Lodge #322 and served on the Jacksboro City Council. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed camping, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dealis and Pearl Rector Nance; brother, J.H. Nance.
