From the Knoxville News Sentinel 17 Dec 2005 MEACHAM, MILTON A. - age 83 MEACHAM, MILTON A. - age 83 passed away Thursday, December 15, 2005. A 1948 graduate of The University of Tennessee, he was employed by White Hall Pharmaceuticals, Fairchild Aircraft, and retired after 31 years at Oak Ridge National Labs. A World War ll Veteran of the Army Air Corp. Preceded in death by his son, Kendall, parents, Harold Sr. and Sadie Meacham of Franklin, TN, brothers, Harding and Harold Jr. He is survived by his loving family wife of 60 years, Veda Mae Barton Meacham of Colville, Washington; sons, Milton A. Jr. (Andy) and wife Debra, Randall and wife Donna, Ronald, Steven and wife Alissa, Gilbert and Dwayne; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Marshall and Wendell of Mississippi; sister Mary Fishburn of Nashville and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 17th, from 12:00 - 1:00 pm at Highland Memorial with a graveside service to follow. The sons and grandsons will be serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to; Mission of Hope, P.O. Box 22312, Knoxville, TN 37933. The Mission of Hope concentrates on serving people throughout poverty stricken rural areas of Appalachia in Southeast Kentucky and Northeast Tennessee.
