She was a member of Second Baptist Church. She was the assistant director or Small Wonders Daycare in Clinton for many years until her illness. LaFollette Press Sept. 27, 2007 John Paul Freeman, age 75, of Knoxville, passed away Sept. 22 at Park West Hospital in Knoxville. He was born Nov. 5, 1931, at Elk Valley, the son of the late Charles Seth and Pernia Nunnally Freeman. He was a loving husband and father, a member of the Christian Faith Tabernacle and a veteran of the Korean War. He cared about others and had the gift of helps and used it. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 50 years, Pauline Walden Freeman; sisters, Bonnie Hicks, Alice Cox, Mildred Foust; brothers, Joe (Big Boy) Freeman, Charles Orlando Freeman and infant brothers, Billy and Brutrum Freeman. LaFollette Press Sept. 27, 2007 William Taylor Lynch, age 87 of Knoxville, formerly of LaFollette passed away Sept. 22 at UT Medical Center. He was a member of Middlebrook Pike United Methodist Church and former member of LaFollette United Methodist Church. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner for more than fifty years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Virginia Grace Chitwood Lynch; parents, R.D. Lynch and Martha Jane McClain Lynch; nine brothers and sisters, and his son-in-law, Marvin JWill Weaver. He is survived by his daughter, Martha Jane Lynch Weaver; grandson and wife, Nickoli Taylor Weaver and Tammy P. McNeese, of West Carrollton, born on Jan. 24, 1931 at age 76, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Aug. 24 at her home. Helen was a long-time member of Moraine Heights Baptist Church. She was a loving, giving woman who loved her Lord and was devoted to her family. Her loving spirit will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. She will remain forever in our hearts. She was a valued member of the 1950 LaFollette Owls undefeated Girl's Basketball Team. This was a legendary team who won the Eastern Region of Tennessee Basketball. It was extraordinary in the sense that this was the first and last time in a Campbell County Girl's Team would have an undefeated season, culminating in a Regional Title. She was widely acclaimed for her hard nosed style of play, winning All District and All-Region. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Arlena and Herman Gilreath; sister, Lois Carneal. He was born Sept. 10, 1927 in Anderson County to the late Rouden and Lilly Duncan White. He was a faithful member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon since 1970. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. He also enjoyed going fishing. Roud was a very special and loving and caring father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
