Clinton Courier Aug.24, 1978 Joe Sexton Ex-Highway Worker, Dies Joe Sexton, 89, of 601 Hendrickson St., Clinton, died at 1:15 p.m. Sunday at his home of complications of age. He was a retired employe of the State Highway Department in Anderson County, and in early years he worked on railroad construction. Sexton was a native of Scott County and lived in Clinton most of his life. Survivors include his wife, Lissie Foust Sexton, a daughter, Mrs. Imogene Goertz and a son,. Audney Sexton of New Castle,Ind.,nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Cindy Webber of Clinton, Mrs. Emily Bradshaw of Sumter,S.C., and Mrs. Kizzie Lemons of Harriman. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Martin Funeral Home chapel in Clinton with the Rev. Ernest Wright officiating. Burial was in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.
