Violette, age 73, of LaFollette, Frank C. Agee, age 91 of LaFollette passed away Aug. 28 at St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. He attended the LaFollette United Methodist Church, was a member of Campbell County Masonic Lodge #778 F.&A.M., and was a Shriner. He owned and operated Agee and Walters Furniture Store for over 70 years. He was preceded in death by wife, Nina Dossett Agee and son, Billy Frank Agee. He is survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Lucille Claiborne; nephews, John Hogan Claiborne IV, and Frank Moore and wife, Mellissa all of LaFollette, and Bill Dossett of Knoxville; niece, Frances M. Allen of Nevada City, CA; seven great nieces and nephews; several other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Friday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. at the LaFollette United Methodist Church with Rev. Dave Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5 to 7 p.m. before services. Interment will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 1 at the Woodlawn Cemetery In lieu of flowers family requests that memorials be sent to the LaFollette United Methodist Church, 808 E. LaFollette Press Aug. 30, 2007 Paul Edward Dople, age 63 of Wooldridge passed away Aug. 16 at the Beech Tree Manor Hospice. He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Dople; brother, Billy Dople. She loved her family and enjoyed going to Cade's Cove. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Fraley; parents, Ted and Beulah Lane Walden. LaFollette Press Aug. 30, 2007 Clara A Hipple, age 83, a resident of Miamisburg, passed away at her residence on July 11. She was born on Jan. 22, 1924 in Dayton, OH to the late, Albert and Sarah (Walden) Ayers. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Hipple on Nov. 3, 2003. She is survived by her son, James A. (Jacqueline) Hipple; daughter, Carolyn E. She was born Dec. 29, 1921 to the late J.A. Boles and Lillie Lane Boles. She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Bearden. For 59 years, she was a long standing employee and owner of Imperial Cantrell Manufacturing Co. of Jellico. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard A. Cantrell; sister, Helen E. Morgan; brother-in-law, E.C. Morgan; and brother, Henry Bascom Boles. She is survived by: her husband, John E. Hunter; special niece, Sherry P. Morgan of Knoxville; special nephew, Larry A. Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel was in charge of the arrangements. LaFollette Press Aug. 30, 2007 William Bobby Jones, age 69 passed away peacefully at his home in LaFollette. He was under Hospice Care. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Speedwell. He was born in LaFollette on Feb. 15, 1938. He entered the Military in 1955 where he trained at Wildflicken in Germany. He was stationed in Berlin, Germany for nearly two years. He was a trained marksman and he represented the US Army pistol team in various tournaments. He also ran various projectors for the army as well. After the military, he worked as a carpenter and contractor for nearly forty years. Self employed and then retired. He loved to witness to people about the Lord wherever he went. He loved to go fishing, camping and working with wood. He traveled quite a bit with his family around the eastern states during his working years. And was an entertaining story-teller to all six of his children as well as grandchildren. He was a very caring father, husband, and friend. He and his wife, Faye (Morgan) Jones were married for 48 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Maynard Rutherford; step father, Elmer Jones; mother, Ruby Jones; son, Alan Conrad "Bill" Jones. He is survived by his wife, Faye (Morgan) Jones; sons, Bobby Jones and William Tracey Jones of Maine, Billy Ray Jones of OH; daughters, Linda Jones- Kimberlin and Rita Ayers of LaFollette; brother, Paul Jones of LaFollette; sister, Margie Reed of IN; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Aug. 28 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with the Rev. Charles Goins and Rev. Bill Asbury officiating. Interment was in the Peabody Cemetery. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired police officer with the LaFollette Police Department. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Leach. He is survived by his daughter, Dianne Lucas of Christiana, TN; granddaughters, Brandi Smith-Evans and husband, Christopher of Christiana, TN, Christi Fidler and husband, Peter of Mt. Juliet, TN; great grandsons, Shae Smith and Grayson Evans of Christiana, TN, Ashton Fidler and Calen Fidler of Mt. Lowe; son, Jeff Lowe; brothers, R.E., Ova, and Roy Burress; sisters, Geneva Burress and Vena Cross. LaFollette Press Aug. 30, 2007 Lydia Beatrice Wilson Peavley, age 88, of LaFollette passed away Aug. 24 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a very caring mother and grandmother. She loved flowers, gardening, quilting and canning. She was a very hard worker who enjoyed going to church when she was able. Her family was her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Peavley; parents, Albert and Martha Beeler Wilson; brothers, Charlie, Horace and Homer Wilson; sisters, Christine White, Janie Kitts and Walcie Wilson. He was a very caring, loving person. She was thoughtful of others, loved to joke with people and play pranks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Edward Ramey; parents, Daniel and Mossie Marlow Evans; brother, Veryl Teague. She is survived by her sister, Mary J. Henderson of Sidney, OH. LaFollette Press Aug. 30, 2007 Jeanette Curry Rogers, age 86, of LaFollette, born Jan.16, 1921, passed away Aug.24. Jack and Jeanette were owners of Rogers Marina and Resort and had treasured memories of the guests and homeowners there. She enjoyed the fun and friendship of their fellow members in the Up and Down Club. She was a devoted member of the LaFollette United Methodist Church.She was preceded in death by husband James Conley Rogers, Jr.; parents, William F. and Effie J. Curry; brothers, Bobby and Eddie Curry; sisters, Billie Bird and Georgia Weagle. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Rogers Bolton of St. Charles, MO; son, Gary Curry Rogers of LaFollette; daughter and son in law, Pamela Rogers Campbell and Jess D. Campbell; cherished grandchildren, Curry Leigh Campbell and Jess Coby Campbell, all of Farragut. A memorial service was held Aug. 27 at the LaFollette United Methodist Church with the Rev. LaFollette Press Aug. 30, 2007 Cecil Andrew Sharp, age 82 of LaFollette passed away Aug. 24 at the Sunbridge Nursing Home in LaFollette. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was one of the last survivors of Pearl Harbor. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by his son, Eddie Sharp; parents, Earth Franklin and Dora Paul Sharp; brothers, Donnie and Edward Sharp.He is survived by his sons, Johnny Massengill of Jacksboro, Colin Sharp of Columbus, OH; daughter, Teresa Sharp of Toledo, OH; brother, Benny Sharp of Caryville; several grandchildren and step grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was employed by Kroger Corporation He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Hoover Shelton. He is survived by his son, Nolan Shelton of Toledo, OH; mother, Ada Shelton; brother, Bruce Wayne Shelton and wife, Helen; sister, Debra Bolton and husband, Robert, all of LaFollette; several other relatives and friends. LaFollette Press Aug. 30, 2007 Onilda "Pat" Barnett Shelton answered the Lord's call to lay down her burdens and come home to rest on Aug. 26 at Sunbridge of LaFollette. She was born in Wooldridge, on Feb. 12, 1930, the daughter of Fred and Ruby Gillum Barnett. In her late teens, she moved to Dayton, OH, with her mom, Ruby, and siblings. She married Foister Shelton and they raised their daughters, Darlene and Christy in Dayton. Upon her husband's retirement from NCR, they returned to Jacksboro. She loved the Lord, her family, and her ever present cup of coffee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Foister Shelton; father, Fred Barnett; mother, Ruby Cohan; sister, Kathleen; brothers, Joe, Arnold, Carson, RC, Wallace. She is survived by daughters, Darlene Christy and their spouses, Rob and Steve; her adored grandchildren, Shelley, spouse, Dave, and Elizabeth, spouse, James; sister, Inez Stephens and her children, Sandy, Johnnie, Shirley, Bunny, Pam, Bill Buddy, as well as their spouses and children; brothers, Dallas, JB Willard Barnett; there is a host of family members on the Shelton family side as well including June and Don Forstner and Jache and Omar Gwin.
