McLendon, formerly of Oak Ridge, David Mise, age 72, of Heiskell, Alva "Al" Webb Jr., age 83, of Heiskell, Harold Fletcher, 75, of Oliver Springs, Nancy Lee Hardin Easler, age 85, of Harriman, formerly of Gaffney, S.C., passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at Roane Medical Center. She is survived by daughter, Betty Phillips and husband, Edward, of Oak Ridge; son, Tommy A. Hardin and wife, Sheila, of Harriman; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and four great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kyker Funeral Home Chapel in Harriman with the Rev. Bill Edmonds officiating. Interment will be in Harriman City Cemetery. McLendon, Oak Ridge pioneer, formerly of Oak Ridge, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, at Hospice of the Upstate in Anderson, S.C. He was born in Birmingham, Ala., on Nov. 19, 1919, to P.C. and Vida McLendon. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Linda Barnett McLendon; two sons, J. Daniel McLendon and wife, Minerva, of Anderson, S.C., and Martin McLendon and wife, Betsy, of G reenville, S.C.; one daughter, Nancy McKay and husband, Lanny, of Abbeville, S.C.; five grandchildren: Melanie McKay Alter and husband, Jamie, of Frisco, Texas, Deanna McLendon of Metairie, La., Brent McKay of Brooklyn, N.Y., Richard McLendon and wife, Sunshine, of Birmingham, Ala., and Julianne McLendon of Greenville, S.C.; and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Eden Alter of Frisco, Texas. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Oak Ridge, and the '43 Club. A 1942 graduate of Howard College (now Samford University) he held a bachelor's degree in chemistry. Immediately after graduation he went to work at the Huntsville Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala. In November 1943, he moved to Oak Ridge to work for Tennessee Eastman Corporation, where he worked in the electromagnetic separation of uranium isotopes in preparation for the start up of 'Calutrons' (separation units). He later joined the Criticality Control Group, where he helped in the development of limits, controls and plant practices. As a member of the American Nuclear Society and the Health Physics Society, he worked on many committees including the first executive committee of the Technical Group for Nuclear Criticality Safety. He retired in February 1984 as supervisor of Radiation Safety at the Y-12 Plant. Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Greenville, S.C., with burial immediately following. David worked at Dun-Rite Heating & Air, a company owned by his son, Bill Mise, which he previously owned and operated. He was preceded in death by his parents, David Henry and Olga Mise. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Virginia Mise of Heiskell; sons, Bill Mise and wife, Debra, of Heiskell, and Mike Cantrell and wife, Kathleen, of Heiskell; daughters, Angie Holloway of Maynardville, and Tish Gordon of Heiskell; grandchildren, Michael Glenn Cantrell, Billy Gordon, Brandon Holloway, Trevor Lee Mise, Melinda Lou Mise, Tyler Maples, and Bridgett Maples; brothers, Drew Mise and wife, Nellie, of Florida; sisters, Clara Jo McConnell of Indiana, Nancy Gara of Indiana, Wilma Barnhorse and husband, Clifford, of Indiana, and Patty and Mary Mise of Indiana; nephew, Dennis McConnell and wife, Teresa, of Indiana; and several other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home, with the funeral following in the chapel. His graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mise Family Cemetery in Heiskell. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. Alva "Al" Webb Jr., age 83, of Heiskell, passed away Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at his residence. Al was a member of Clinton First Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II in the 10th Mountain Division. Al retired from the USDA Soil Conservation Service as a District Conservationist in Polk, Smith, and Anderson counties. He graduated from the University of Georgia majoring in Agriculture. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alva Eugene Webb Sr. and Willie Hutchins Webb; sisters, Mary Cox, Henrietta White, Betty Richards, and Evelyn Chastain; and a brother, George Webb. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Conley Webb of Heiskell; daughters, Carla Scott and husband, David, of Charlotte, N.C., and Leslie Webb of Nashville; son, Mark Webb and wife, Leslie Jo, of Bryan, Texas; granddaughter, Elizabeth Scott of Charlotte, N.C.; grandson, Evan Scott of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Jerry Webb and wife, Joyce, of Dalton, Ga.; brother-in-law, Harvey Keown and wife, Martha, of Rossville, Ga. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home. His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel with the Rev. Terry Baker officiating. The burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Garden with full military honors at graveside. The family has requested memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 225 N. Main St., Clinton, TN 37716. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. Harold Fletcher, 75, of Oliver Springs, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, at his home.
