One of Charles' sisters, Arbana "Bannie", also married a CRABTREE - John Albert CRABTREE - and I haven't been able to ascertain his parents, either. Have wondered if Rachel and John Albert CRABTREE might be sister / brother. Both Charles and "Bannie" are siblings of my grandmother, Charity CHITWOOD. Thanks. Nancy, I have been working on this for you but all I have come up with is Rachel Crabtree, daughter of Isaac Crabtree and she married Jacob "Jake" Chambers May 20, 1900 but by 1910 she is a widow, age 35, living with her framily, Isaac and Pherby Crabtree. Charles is still in the HH of his family born May 1889 in 1900 census. I found and interesting side to this, that the persons living next door to Charley's family are William A. and Melvina Trammel Crabtree. This is my family. William A. had a son, John Albert born 1877 in Scott County and he was married to Bannie Chitwood. But...I cannot find a Rachel Crabtree in that family or any of the others, other than Isaac Crabtree. I am leaving tomorrow and will not be able to work on this until I return in a few days. But...there is always someone out there that knows this family. I ran through Rootsweb.com and I belong to Ancestry and they had nothing other than the names. I do not remember having a Rachel but then I have a lot on the family of James Crabtree son of Jesse. James is the father of William Abner Crabtree who married Melvina Trammel.
