I found this on another list and thought it might be of interest to others. Marilyn ----------------------------------------------------- There is a new book out that should be of interest to anyone whose family came early to Tennessee. it contains the places that DAR has marked patriots' graves - all they could find! Two ladies covered all of Tennessee looking for the graves that the various DAR Chapters have marked as being Rev Vet. DAR also marks houses of patriots, trees under which decisions were made, anything having to do with the Revolutionary War. So often I see inquiries saying families came into such-and-such county in TN way back there. This is the book for you!! My families lived in other states, so the book won't give me any help in finding my folks, but those whose families moved to TN may find the graves of their ancestors written up . There are some bios if the ladies found a colorful Vet's grave, there are discriptions of houses, walls, directions of how to get there. Your ancestor did not have to be from TN during the War, but if he and his family moved here at a later date, and he died here, chances are he is in this book !! The book is "Hisorical Markers," It is a large book, beautiful cover, 600+ pages. The price is $70.00 plus about $7.00 postage. These are but trifles, to be sure; but, scattered along life's pathway, the good they do is inconceivable. ~ Joseph Addison (1672-1719)
