My Thomas wasn't a justice of peace that I know of. To my knowledge, he was a farmer, sold trees for lumber, and a minister (according to an article about his wife Telitha Brown's murder). Some believe that he was married previously before her to an Elizabeth Robbins and was divorced in Morgan County. I am inclined to disbelieve this because he was said to have been a minister. Most churches in that area were Baptist, and Baptists do not bode well with divorced ministers. Thanks for the offer though. I'll keep you in mind in case he turned out to be a justice of peace! Jennifer, There is also a file on Thomas at the Historical Society, I haven't looked into it much, but disbelieved it to be the other Thomas that is my wife's family. Also the book on Harness has the family you are looking for in it. It is located in the back of the book. Have you got one of them.
