    3. Kenna That's some excellent advice, there. I was just thinking today that, if we don't reach the Winfield area until Friday evening (probably won't) then it will be pretty limited what we find open on Saturday.... much less Sunday and Labor Day! Oh well, there's always ordering and researching by mail and email. At least I can find more information on finding more information... I'll call ahead so I don't make a fruitless trip to those two places. Glad YOU were thinking! Thanks. Lisa, I have been looking up this in my Scott county cemetery book and I have found 2 pages missing, would it be possible for you to scan them and email to me or could you run a copy and mail to me? I would be happy to pay for the copy and postage if mailed. Its pages 88 & 89. For some reason 87 (on the front of a page)jumps to 90 (on the back of page 87) Thats pretty weird! Please advise. 1. [TNSCOTT] Taylors
    2. Deb Shippee
    3. Frank and Teresa, I have contacted so many over the past years, I don't remember if we've ever compared notes or not. Both of my parents were born and raised in Scott and Morgan counties. I'm with Rae and firmly believe that I am related to all of Scott county, with Morgan county running a close second! lol The Taylors are on my dad's side and I think they were mainly centered around Cumberland and Morgan County. My great grandmother was Barbara Emeline Taylor 1884 - 1971, who married Oscar Bishop. Barbara's parents were David Alexander Taylor, 1857 - 1941 and Sarah Arcena Hall, 1859-1941. David's parent's were James Francis Taylor 1825 - 1887 and Jane Lee 1819 -1890. From there, it's pretty fuzzy ........ Do we connect anywhere there? > From: FDTaylor@highland.net> To: tnscott@rootsweb.com> Date: Sat, 25 Aug 2007 13:23:31 -0400> Subject: Re: [TNSCOTT] Scott County> > Teresa, may I ask your Taylor line? 3. The Scott County Library has a lot of the funeral home books. My husband and I sat for 2 hours the last time we were there and went through each book They make copies for you also. The gift shop is Oneida Book and Gift Store, beside of Walmart. Sometimes they have a lot of the books, but didn t have many the last time we were there. The Doisy House is a must stop. My brother-in-law and his wife made a special trip to go there about a year ago and found wonderful stuff that we had been searching for for along time. I also have the Scott and Morgan Cemetary books and Cooper and Shubert Funeral home books and will do lookups. 2. Nancy Keith
    3. Mary Lou All the information that I have on them is from I. O. "Sonny" CHITWOOD's book, Descendants of Matthias Chitwood. It shows Charles CHITWOOD (eighth child of Rev Joel C and Mary Jane TRAMMELL CHITWOOD) marrying (1) Rachel CRABTREE and producing these children: Laura, Mary Jane, Ray, and Madelene. (2) Stella MAXEY, and producing these children: MARSHALL, Doris, Helen ROBERT, and Shirley. Further, it shows Marshall marrying Arlene DUNCAN and producing Diane, Timmy, and Tommy. No further information on them, and no dates. Then it shows Robert marrying Gene HAMBY and producing Robin (who married a STRUNK), Jeffrey (b 1960, d 1980) and Felicia. And that's the total of what I know about them, although I sure would like to know more. I would guess that both Marshall and Robert are still living, and I am wondering if they are in the Scott County area. Do you know? I O Chitwood's book takes the family back to Matthias CHITWOOD, so if you have a copy, check it out. If you don't, let me know and I'll share the earlier information. That goes for everyone on the list. I'll be happy to do look-ups, but I *might* not get the information out until we have returned to Michigan from visiting your fair area. Keep me on your list of people happy to do look-ups in that book, though. 3. Lisa Well, I can see that I need to set aside a block of time for book buying! Researching Tennessee from Michigan could use a little of that kind of help! I have looked at a couple of those books, but they are at the State of Michigan Library - not available from them on interlibrary loan - and that's about 3 1/2 hours away. I guess we'll just take along beans and water and spend our *eating* money on books!! ;-) Thanks for the offer of look-ups - for everybody - and I just may have to contact you off list to see if we can find some of those names BEFORE we go down to Scott County.
