Sorry to post this to the lists, but I don't have the email address any more for a "cousin", Anna Marie, daughter of Coney and Ida CHITWOOD. Coney was a son of Rev Joel C and Mary Jane TRAMMELL CHITWOOD. My grandmother, Charity, was a daughter of theirs, sister to Coney. Anna, if you receive this, please contact me at keithnancy@t-one.net Thanks. Nancy Schrader Keith "Imagination is more important than knowledge. Greetings I just found a note that I had made a while back... have no idea where I found the information, but am hoping that someone would be kind enough to look this up for me. It's about an obituary for Jarvis H CHITWOOD Died 20 Apr 1968 in the Winfield area (He's buried in the Walker Cemetery) My note refers to the Scott County Independent Herald issue of January 24, 2002. I have no idea why a 1968 obituary would appear in a 2002 publication, but I sure would appreciate a copy. Jarvis was my grandmother's older brother, (a son of Rev Joel and "Jane" CHITWOOD) and my dad talked of him often. I actually met him on a trip to Winfield in the 1960s. He was quite a character. Thanks for any help you can give. Nancy in COLD, snowy Michigan where the temperatures are about to drop to near zero and we're about to get another 6-8 inches of snow.

If anyone thinks they may know who it is, let me know and I will send you a copy. The reason I am looking is I just got a lot of old stuff give to me, it belonged to a man who I never met. A family member of mine got it and give it to me. I think it is sad to have pictures that you don't know who they are. There families deserve to have them, not a stranger. If it's a WWII era uniform, it's probably James Matthew Phillips, at times known as "Mac", son of Alice Cross Phillips, widow of General Phillips (1912) and George Hardy Blakley, born in Scott Co. 28 Jul 1915 and died in a car accident 29 Nov 2000. Thanks to all who have responded to my several queries re: John H. Matthews and Ida B. Gunther family. I located Ida's maiden name on the Scott Co Gen Web site. I also found additional information on her parents, and siblings. In addition, you helped me located Dora Mae Sanders' burial place, and her family. Some of the children who deceased in infancy were found in the Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery in West Robbins, Scott Co TN. I also discovered some possibly very confusing information about one of her foster daughters. I won't go into it now, as I have to sort out some things and be more sure that my theories are correct. Special thanks to Milly, Wilma, and Johnetta. By the way, the Scott Co Genweb site has a great cemetery database! Willie

John and Ida Matthews lived in Morgan or Scott Counties from 1910 until their deaths (hers, 1964; his, 1970). Any help would be appreciated. Willie wbeaty@twlakes.net
