    3. Naomi Hunley Lemarr, 79, LaFollette died Saturday, April 26, 2003 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was a member of Little Cove Creek Baptist Church. Naomi loved to read, watch TV and to sew, also she loved flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Lemarr; parents, Robert and Bertha Miller Hunley; brother, Lee Hunley; sister, Elizabeth Guy.Mrs. Lemarr is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws, Alice and Dan Ledbetter, Dayton, OH, Linda and George McKinney, Cookie and David Hembree, all of LaFollette, Portia and Herbert Anderson, Rogersville; sisters, Cecil Lough Allen, LaFollette, Bobbie Sue Mattie, Dayton, OH; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Sunday April 27, 2003 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Dan Ledbetter officiating. Interment was Monday April 28, 2003 in Campbell Memorial Gardens. The family received friends Sunday night before the funeral. Flo Ellison Roberson, LaFollette, died Wednesday April 16,2003 at Erlanger Hospital. She was a member of LaFollette United Methodist Church and had worked as a Bank Teller for the First National Bank, LaFollette for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Roberson; parents, George and Susan (Bowman) Ellison; sisters, Goldie Chapman, Ruth Heatherly, Nora Ellison, Dallas Gross and a twin brother, Everette Ellison. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Rosemary Roberson, Jacksboro, daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Earl Webb, Chattanooga; grandchildren, Mallory and Dylan Roberson, Jenny and Chip Webb; sister, Etta Lambdin, LaFollette. Funeral services were Friday, April 18, 2003 at Cross Funeral Home with Dr. Billy Edmonds officiating. Interment was April 19, 2003 at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family received friends Friday before the funeral service. Ivan Elias Younce, 89, 1430 Mabel School Road, Zionville, NC died Saturday, April 26, 2003 at Glenbridge Health Care in Boone, NC He was born September 5, 1913 in Mabel, Watauga County. Mr. Younce was a retired farmer and house painter, he was a member and deacon of Union Baptist Church, where he formerly served as Superintendent, song leader, church clerk and Sunday School teacher for more than 40 years. Mr. Younce taught shape note music and singing in numerous churches in North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Florida. Beginning in the early 1930's he enjoyed playing with several country and bluegrass bands, especially Doc Watson and the Cove Creek Ramblers. Mr. Younce was active in local politics and community activities. He will be remembered as a true friend by all who know him. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Thomas Younce; parents Charles Luther and Pearl Burkett Younce; sister, Earline Robinson; two brothers, Clyde and Howard Younce; two grand daughters, Susan Blackburn and Mitzi Younce. He is survived by one daughter, Betty and husband Ben Blackburn, Cherryville, NC; three sons, Tommy Younce and wife, Mildred, Vilas, NC, Kent Younce and wife, Geneva, LaFollette, and Lowell Younce and wife, Audrey, Zionville; four granddaughters, Gail Blackburn Page and husband, Gene, Cherryville, Teresa Younce Campbell and Susan Younce Henson, all of Vilas, and Anne and Keith Younce, Vilas, Brian Younce and wife, Scott and Jason Younce, all of LaFollette; one sister, June Oliver, Boone, NC; two brothers, Bob Younce, Boone, and Burkett Younce, Monetta, SC; 13 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at Union Baptist Church. Reverends Bill Warren, Carl Wilson, and Chuck Morefield officiated the ceremony. Burial followed in the Union Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions could be made to the Union Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, in care of Frank Thomas, 4913 Old Highway 421, Zionville, NC 28698. Hampton Funeral in Boone was in charge of the arrangements. Rev. Virgil S. Cole, 86, LaFollette, died Tuesday, April 22,2003 at St. Mary 's Medical Center. He was a member of Forks Grove Baptist Church and pastured the following Baptist Churches; Northridge, Dayton, OH, Mount Paran, Vasper, Cumberland View, Red Ash, Duff, Bethel, Jakes Branch, Murrayville, Robbins, Bethlehem and Forks Grove. Brother Cole was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and he worked for Beltone Hearing Aid Company for 11 years. He is survived by his wife, Nola Cooper Cole; son, Elmer Cole, Chattanooga; daughter, Lana McNeeley, Greenville, SC; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; brother, R.L. Cole, LaFollette; sister, Dorothy Queener, Clinton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Friday, April 25, 2003 at Cross Funeral Home Chapel. Reverends Ronnie Poston and Clyde Ellison officiated the services. Interment was Saturday, April 26, 2003 at Cumberland View Cemetery with Military Honors by Campbell County Honor Guard. The family received friend Friday before the funeral service. Roger "Midway" Allen Jones, 15, Bass Lake Road, Temple, died Friday, April 25, 2003 from injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was born July 21, 1987 in Jackson, MI. He was the son of Mrs. Brenda Kaye Ewers Jones and Gary Lee Jones. He was a freshman at Temple High School where he was a former football player and was in the weight lifting program. He was a member of the Temple Church of God. He was employed part time at Joe Simms Poultry Farm. He was preceded in death by a brother, Myles Lane; maternal grandmother, Alma Ewers; maternal step grandmother, Shirley Ewers and one niece Breanna Russell. He is survived by his parents, Brenda Kay Ewers Jones and Gary Lee Jones, Temple; sisters, Nicolette "Nikki" Lane, Temple, Tabbatha "Tabby" Hutton, Kingston, Heather Jones and Kellie Jones, both of Greensfork, IN; brother James "Jimmy" Hutton, Conyers; maternal grandfather, Charlie Ewers, Brass Lake, MI; paternal grandparents, J.C. and Nan Jones, LaFollette; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services were Monday, April 28, 2003 from the Temple Church of God. The family received friends Sunday, April 27, 2003 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home and also Monday, April 28, 2003 at the Temple Church of God. A second Funeral service was conducted April 29, 2003 at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Kingston with Rev. Paul Lloyd officiating. Interment services were April 29, 2003 at the Clairfield Cemetery in Clairfield. Henry Curtis Lowe, 86, Jacksboro, died Saturday, April 19, 2003 at Sunbridge Nursing Home. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and of the Baptist faith. His survivors are a wife, Jewell Lowe, Jacksboro; stepdaughter, Sherri Giaquinto, Cape Coral, FL; brother-in-laws, Ron and Clarence Reynolds; half sisters, Pauline Gray, Corbin, KY, Irene Perkins, Piqua, OH, Judy Lawson, Knoxville, and Mary Lou Payne, Jacksboro; half brother, Clarence Lowe, Jacksboro; several nieces and nephews. Graveside Services were Monday, April 21, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at the Harness Cemetery, Caryville with the Campbell County Honor Guard. Rev. Don Allen officiated the ceremony. Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Nellie B. Bunch, 88 of 1218 W. Forrest Street, LaFollette, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert (Bob) Bunch, Sr.; infant son, David Thompson; daughter, Janice Bunch Riseden; granddaughter, Tiffany Louise Tibbs; great grandson, Brandon Clayborn; parents, AB and Mandy Jane Price Thompson; brothers, Charlie and Edward Thompson; sister, Lilly Mae Siler. Mrs. Bunch is survived by her son, James Robert "Bob) Bunch Jr., Victorville, CA; daughters, Mary Kennedy Marsee, LaFollette, Lillian Bunch Cox, Dayton, OH, Carolyn Bunch, West Palm Beach, FL; 16 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren; sisters, Irene Hayes, Caryville, Fanny Thompson Luallen and Loretta Thomson Walker both of LaFollette, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangemen Ruthie Nolan, 82, Clinton, died Monday, April 28, 2003 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was born January 25, 1921. She was a member of the Community Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents George and Nancy Lee Phillips and her husband, Luke Nolan. Her survivors are five sons and daughters-in-law, Harvey and Connie Nolan, Hurstle and Juanita Nolan, all of Oak Ridge, Harlan and Connie Nolan, Curtis and Mary Nolan, all of Clinton, and David and Mary Nolan, Lake City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Tommy Mitchell, and Shirley and Lonnie McKamey, all of Clinton; 15 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Visitation was Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home. Funeral services were Wednesday, April 30, 2003 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Ray Scarbrough officiating. Interment followed the funeral service at the Sunset Cemetery in Clinton. Anna Mae Giles Teague, 85, LaFollette, formerly of Clairfield, died Wednesday, April 23,2003 at St. Mary's of Campbell County. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Anna was a loving mother and a former schoolteacher at Valley Creek Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Varenll Teague; parents, Carl and Ada Giles; brother, Elmer Giles; two sisters, Margarette McDaniel and Pauline Giles. Mrs. Teague is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Norita and Harry Parrot; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Christine Teague, all of LaFollette; granddaughter, Kathy Parrot, her husband Vic Pryor; two grandsons, Jimmy Varnell (Jabo) Teague and wife, Melanie, all of LaFollette, and Richard (Ricky) and wife, Becky, Fredericksbug,VA; one great granddaughter, Shelby; three great grandsons, Preston, Brandon, and Jeremy; brothers, Donald Giles, Beaver Creek, OH and Richard Giles, LaFollette; sisters, Helen McFarland, Finksburg, MD, Evelyn Butler, Beaver Creek, OH; as well as several nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Special caregivers, Carolyn Todd and Edith Longmire. Funeral services were Thursday, April 24, 2003 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Orick officiating. Interment was Friday in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The family received friends before the funeral services Thursday. Charles Edward Wells, 59, Maryville, died Monday, April 21, 2003 at the family home. He was a disabled American Veteran serving in the United States Army. He was a loving husband, father, and papaw. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Wells, VA; mother, Jewell Mack Jessee, Jacksboro. His survivors include his wife of 20 years, Donna Rains Wells, Maryville; son, Chuck Wells, Ozark, AL; daughters, Donna Naylor, Ozark, AL, Tracy and her husband Todd Lang, Maryville, Robin and her husband Jerry Lashley, AL; grandchildren, Dylan Wells, Josh and Aaron Meeks, Hayley and Kyler Lang, Lakken and Jerry Lashley; sisters Opal Workman, OH and Marie Wells, Brentwood. Funeral services were Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. in the West Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Rodney Hardin officiating. Interment with military honors at Grandview Cemetery.

Kingston Demolition Range Photo Workshop Pellissippi Genealogical & Historical Society{PGHS} Ranounces the upcoming release and sale of the first two CD-ROM volumes of its "KINGSTON DEMOLITION RANGE PHOTOS BEFORE 1942." The workshop event will be held Saturday, May 24, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. noon at Clinton Senior School Cafeteria, 425 Dragon Drive, Clinton,Tennessee. The photos cover the lost communties and farms that now make up Oak Ridge, K-25, Y-12, X 10 and the newest Spallation Neutron Source. The photographs, taken by Army Corps of Engineers, cover the homeplaces and buildings removed in 1924-43 for the Manhattan Project. The originals are now held by the National Archives and Records Administration in Atlanta and have never before been distributed in this format for the interest of historians and the interested public. In late 2002 with a funding grant fronm BXWT Y-12, LLC, the PGHS began a year-long project to retrieve the photographs, convert them to digital format and reproduce them on CD-ROM. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Chartarina Garzoni Vicini. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Joseph Capelli and a brother. She was survived by sons, Peter Joseph Capelli, Lebanon, Va, John Louis Capelli, Louisville, Ky, Donald and Judy Capelli, Springfield, Ohio; daughter, Evelyn Ann Vickers, Lexington, Ky; numerous grandchildren; one brother and two sisters. Funeral services were Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church with Father Tom Imfeld officiating. Interment was in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery. Cox & Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Patricia Thaile (Ward) Goben, 61, Heiskell, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003. Thaile (Pat) was born to James J. and Maude A. Ward on September 12, 1942 in Bryson City, NC. She grew up in the Edgemoor community in Anderson County. She graduated from Clinton High School in Clinton in 1960. She loved her Lord, her family and music. In spite of paralysis from childhood Polio. She was an accomplished pianist. She had been the pianist at a number of churches in TN and GA over the years. She started playing for Edgemoor Baptist and recently played for First Baptist Church of LaFollette where she was a member until she was no long able to do so. She was preceded in death by her father, James J. Ward and two sons; Christian Paul Goben and James Griffen Goben. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Herbert Goben and son Josh, both of Heiskell; her mother, Maude Ward; brother, Scott Ward, both of the Edgemoor Community in Clinton Henry Curtis Lowe, 86, Jacksboro, died Saturday, April 19, 2003 at Sunbridge Nursing Home.He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and of the Baptist faith. James Lee Sharp, 84, of Denison, TX, formerly of LaFollette and Little Rock AK, died Monday, April 21, 2003 at St.Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County.He was born May 23, 1918 in LaFollette. He graduated from LaFollette High School, served in the U.S, Army in North Africa in the 9th Division from 1941-1944. He received the Purple Heart from an injury incurred in Tunisia, North Africa. He attended the Southern College of Watch making and Jewelry Repair. He owned Sharp Jewelry in Little Rock, AK for 26 years and retired in 1983. He had lived in Denison, TX since 1999. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, DAV, Order of the Purple Heart, and a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge in Little Rock. He was a life member of the Rosedale Optimist Club in Little Rock, AK and an active member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Denison, TX. He will be greatly missed by many family members and friends as he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather (Papa.) He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie O and Della Myers Sharp; brothers, Henry and Casper Sharp; sisters, Emma and Louise Sharp, Edna Rule Cherry and Elizabeth Gray.
