Does anyone out there know who the parents of Clarinda Bowling was? She was born in 1843 and married Charles H. West. I think she died between 1878 and 1880. They had 6 children, Joel, William, Greenberry, Pleasant, Elijah and Rachel. By 1880 Charles is already married to Nancy White. Thanks Tina

A couple days ago I posted information for some grave stones I found in Arizona for Leonidas Thompson and Arthur J. Long. I found the following information on Leonidas Thompson of the Thompson Genforum: Leonidas Thompson was born in Blount County, TN, on 9 Sept 1836. He was the son of Larkin Thompson and Mary Anderson. Leonidas married Mary Catherine Anderson on 27 July 1857 in Blount County. He had a sister Clementine Thompson. Don Churchfield AZ

Hello Tim, I don't know for sure where they are from at this point, I am trying to get some information from the Arizona Historical Society to see if they have any information. I did some research last night when I got home from church, but have not found anything on the net about them except for their listing on the web age for Cochise Cemetery. I was quite surprised to find them, and will be checking other cemeteries for others. I did find some Webb's buried in a cemetery in Old Pearce. One of the families I am researching on my wife's side is Webb. There is also a ghost town which consists of two buildings about 10 miles south of the Old Pearce Cemetery, and I am trying to connect them to the town. Don

Thoought this would interest the WESTs out there. -------------Forwarded Message----------------- From: INTERNET:dwest3@utk.edu, INTERNET:dwest3@utk.edu To: [unknown], INTERNET:WEST-L@rootsweb.com Date: 5/2/03 3:52 PM RE: [WEST-L] WEST DNA project update Hi cousins: We have our first match in our DNA project!! Read about it on our webpage at: http://web.utk.edu/~corn/westdna/ Two of our WEST cousins had a paper trail to Maryland pre-1800, but had not established a definite relationship. The DNA test provides the proof that they share a common ancestor. Probably George WEST who died in 1760, leaving a will that named 9 children. This family is mentioned in "The West Family Register" by L.B. Stone on page 398 if you have access to that. The two DNA samples from descendents of George WEST both have a VERY rare mutation on one of the genetic markers, reinforcing our conclusion that they are related. I have added a link on the FAQ page of the website to photos of a person collecting his DNA sample, if you want to see how easy it is. Comments, suggestions, questions, and new DNA testees welcome.
