DeVonda, do you mean the Western Division Southern Baptist Association in Tennessee? If so, you might be able to e-mail James Twilbeck who is their Director of Missions and ask if they have anything on him in their archives. You can go to the Tennessee Baptist Convention web site and e-mail Rev. Twilbeck. Go to http://www.tnbaptist.org/whoweare/associations.htm#W and you should find his name there. His office is located in Paris, Tennessee if that helps. Don Sierra Vista, AZ
Rosemary: The other 2 are not listed in WUA and I have copies of all of them, I checked the 1929 Newspaper also, and there is not one listed for Isaac Trammell, but I did find this one in the Scott County News: Sharp, Rosa, wife of Calvin Sharp, died at the home of her son-in-law, Edd Chitwood near Winfield on January 21 at the age of 76. She was the daughter of Dock Duncan and Sallie Chitwood Duncan. She was one of a family of six, three sons and three daughters. In her youth she was married to the late J. M. Tramell, to which union were born eight children, three sons and five daughters: Rebecca Smith, Dock Tramell, Marion Tramell, Henry Trammell, Bettie Walker, Bertha Chitwood, all of Winfield and Sallie Duncan of Wonder, Ky. She was a splendid woman, having become a Christian in early life and had a large number of friends. She is survived by her husband, eight children, one sister, 82 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral services were conducted by Revs. B. D. Chitwood and George King. Interment was in the Chitwood cemetery near Winfield with Coopers in charge. Anna, Yes, I have heard that if no application by a widow or widower is made to collect the measly $255. There will be no record. $255 don't even buy the flowers..Oh well..Anyone can order a Social Security Orginal Application(copy of) It used to be $7 if you knew the # and $14 if you didn't. They raised the price I do believe to $27..Since they did that I haven't ordered any... Anna, I had an uncle that never married or had any children and died around the age of 75. His name is in the index, when nobody besides himself received benefits. But, it only shows up if I don't put his MIDDLE initial. And even stranger than that, my dad's only shows up if I just use his initial for his FIRST name instead of his name. Of course I have to put the state, or it would search forever. I had forgotten that until I just tried it on Ancestry. I can't figure out why some show up and some don't. Mary

Beverly: I live in the Sacramento area and I followed your post from start to finish. You had some wonderful leads coming from all parts of the US. Your Father may have had an SS #, but if there were no benefits paid to a survivor, there is no 'public' record listed. If you know his employer, I will call to see if there is any information they will give. Also: here is the address for... Sacramento County Recorders Office: 600 - 8th Street Sacramento CA 95814 916-874-6334 California has just changed their 'rules' again, so if you do not want to call, let me know and I will get the details for you as to fees, etc. I have just sent for and received about two dozen death certificates from different CA counties and they are all different. If the person listed as the informant knew your Father and details of his life, there may be other info listed there and where the burial took place. I see that the parents and place of birth are listed, so I think the informant was a relative or close friend to have such knowledge. Also: if there was a Coroners Inquest, you will be able to get that information from the Coroners Office. There were two newspapers in Sacramento at that time: The Sacramento Union and Sacramento Bee. The Bee is still a daily newspaper and the Union information has been stored at the California State Archives. There may have been an obit. Good Luck: Dixie (SCOTT)
