Bell, 79, of Norris, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. His family said he was a beloved father, grandfather and brother. According to his family, those who knew him well will remember him as a supporter of the community whose generosity reached many individuals and organizations. His family said he leaves a legacy of designing and building for church, family and friends. After retiring from the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant, Mr. Bell became a gourmet cook who, his family said, shared love and laughter at the table. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen B. Bell; his parents; and by several brothers and sisters. Mr. Bell is survived by two daughters, Deborah B. Wilson, and husband, Tom, of Chantilly, Va., and Diane B. Muse, and husband, Mike, of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren, Eric Wilson, Brian Wilson and Meredith Wilson; a sister, Jeanne Stokes, and husband, Tom, of Bristol, Va.; and by several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, at Norris Memorial Gardens. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to the Children's Program, c/o M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030. William Kenneth "Ken" Fox, 73, of Clinton and the Claxton community, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born March 8, 1930, in Hazard, Ky., he was the son of William Andrew Fox Sr. and Minnie Ellington Fox. Mr. Fox was a member of Raccoon Valley Church of God and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Andrew Fox Jr.; a sister, Gearldine Stanford; three stepsons, Mark Lightfoot, Owen Lightfoot and Rod Lightfoot; and by two grandchildren. August Joseph "Gus" Legeay, 81, of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of Paducah, Ky., and Oak Ridge, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, in Indianapolis. Mr. Legeay was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and was a retired production manager of the Oak Ridge K-25 site. He was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Indianapolis and was a fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He was also a Kentucky Colonel. Mr. Legeay is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marion Riley Legeay; three sons, Michael Legeay of Fort Mitchell, Ky., Gus Legeay Jr. of Indianapolis and Stephen Legeay of Asheville, N.C.; and by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, at St. Francis DeSales Church in Paducah with the Rev. Larry McBride officiating. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Paducah. Dennis Franklin Eaves, 54, of Athens, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003, at Athens Regional Medical Center. A lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of Frank and Carrie Scroggs Eaves, both now deceased. Mr. Eaves was a graduate of McMinn County High School and the University of Tennessee. He was a member of North Athens Baptist Church and the Meridian Sun Lodge No. 50 F&AM, and he served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Eaves was associated with Bowater as an industrial engineer for 29 years. Mr. Eaves is survived by his wife, Dale Partain Eaves; two daughters, Patrinka Fernandez, and husband, Juan, and English Lacey Eaves, all of Athens; a sister, Barbara White and husband, Bob, of Oak Ridge; a sister-in-law, Judy P. Wilson, of Athens; and by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Floyd and Sue Partain, of Athens. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at McMinn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Bob Kerr officiating. Eunice Faye Buis-Howard, 54, of Oak Ridge, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, after a brief illness. She was a heart transplant survivor of 13 years. Mrs. Howard was vice-president of the Knoxville area American Heart Association and was a volunteer at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was active in the Reading for Illiteracy program and had recorded numerous recordings for the blind. According to her family, she was also an inspirational speaker, visiting various schools and educating others on the importance of organ donation. She was retired from the Oak Ridge K-25 site and a member of Truelight Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Martin. Mrs. Howard is survived by her husband, Wesley S. Howard III; her daughter, Phyllis Harshaw, and husband, Robert, of Alcoa; her son, Wesley S. Howard IV, and wife, Dorothy, of Memphis; and by her parents, Lamar and Rene Martin Hall, of Oak Ridge. She is also survived by two brothers, Edward L. Martin and Michael H. She attended Third Creek and then Central High School, and was employed by Knox Porcelain, Oak Ridge, Y-12, Southern Athletic, Alpha, Baptist Hospital, and Knox County Schools Cafeteria. Clara was a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church and president of her Sunday School Class for many years. Some of her happiest times were working with church youth and encouraging her two daughters with their church music. Clara's family remembers her as a sweet caring person who always saw the best in everyone. Her two daughters & grandchildren thought of her not only as a loving mother & grandmother, but as their best friend. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, James Henderson Estes and Nora (Nipper) Estes; her husband, Clarence Arthur Mays, who passed away April 9, 2003; her two brothers, James and Wilbur Estes; and a sister, Lillian West. She is survived by daughters, Patricia Ann Price and Nora Joan Cooper; sons-in- law, Larry Price and Gary Cooper; grandchildren, Jill (Price) Akers and Casey Cooper; great-grandchildren, Brady & Bailey Akers (who always made her smile); sister, Hazel (Estes) Dougherty. Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Robert Benjamin Alley, 67, South Knoxville, died Friday, September 12, 2003 after a brief illness. Ben was born and raised in LaFollette. After graduating from LaFollette High School, Ben attended the University of Tennessee and later received his DDS degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. In 1959, Ben joined the U.S. Air Force and served two years at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, TX. Dr. Ben Alley had his oral surgery residencies at the University Medical Center in Knoxville and the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in Birmingham and was named Diplomat, American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He went on to establish an oral surgery practice in Knoxville and eventually became a partner in University Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons until his retirement in 2001. In the Tennessee Dental Association, he served as trustee and president. He received the TDA Fellowship Award in 1975 and the Dr. Jack E. Wells Memorial Dedication to Dentistry Award in 2002. In the American Dental Association, Dr. Alley was both a delegate and alternate delegate on the House of Delegates. He was a member and served on the Board of Regents for the American College of Dentists and was a member of the International College of Dentists. Dr. Alley was a member of the Tennessee and the Southeastern Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons as well as the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He also served on the Board of Directors at the UT College of Dentistry. Ben has been a member of Lake Forest Presbyterian Church for 41 years and served as Elder and Deacon. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Helen Armstrong Alley; daughter, Sharon Wallace and husband David; sons, David Alley and wife Katie and Robert C. Funeral services were Sunday, September 14 in the Chapel of Harp Funeral Home with Reverends Ray Landes and Sam Walden officiating. Burial was in the Douglas Cemetery. Danny Housley, 60, Winder, GA., formerly of LaFollette, died Friday, September 12, 2003 at the Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, GA. He was a member of Ford Town Baptist Church. Danny is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ethel Shepherd Housley; brothers, Delan and Otha Housley; sisters, Roberta Strain and Mary Evans. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Housley, Bethlehem, GA.; sons, Jamie Housley, Jacksboro, Danny Housley, Atlanta, GA., and Kenny Pierce, LaFollette; grandchildren, Breanna, Ethan, Haden, all of GA., Kendra, RI, Heida, Jacksboro, Sierra, LaFollette; brothers, Hurshell Housley, LaFollette, Bobby Joe Housley, Marnga, OH., J.M. Housley, Cincinnati, OH., and Tony Housley, TX.; sisters, Esther Owens, Bristol, Azalee McCoullah, LaFollette and Yvonia Morrell, Jacksboro; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Sunday, September 14 at Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Don Whited officiating. Interment was Monday, September 15 at Bakers Forge Cemetery. Jewell Geraldine Mullins, 69, died Thursday, September 4, 2003. She was born May 23, 1934. Jewell is now at peace with God. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Gilbert Mullins. Jewell is survived by her sons, James, Marvin and wife (Rhonda), and Boyd and wife (Shelly) Mullins; sisters, Edith and Jenny; brother, Marshall; some grandchildren, James Oscar Mullins, Brian Ray Mullins; great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Hunter; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Monday, September 8 at Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home. The family received friends prior to the service. Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Bobby Sharp, 56, Jacksboro died Monday, September 15, 2003 at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville. He was a member of the Fordtown Baptist Church. Bobby was a loving father, son, and brother who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Bobby also enjoyed praising Jesus, his Lord and Savior. He was preceded in death by his father, Dana Sharp. Bobby is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Baker, Caryville, Misty Sharp and Emily Seibers, both of Jacksboro; mother, Magalene Sharp, Jacksboro; sisters, Wanda Sue Wallace and Diane Farmer, both of Jacksboro; special little friend, Dezarey Farmer, LaFollette; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Wednesday, September 17 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Reverends David Hicks and Tony Wallace officiating. Interment will be Thursday, September 18 at 11 a.m. in Evans Cemetery with full military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. John Lee West, 64, White Oak, died Thursday, September 4, 2003 at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Pauline Money West; sister, Irene West Small; brothers-in-law, Wade Marlowe and Roger Blue; father-in-law, George King. John is survived by his wife, Colleen King West; son, Terry West, White Oak; grandson, Jacob West, Williamsburg; sister, Wanda Marlowe, White Oak, Wilma West, Jacksboro, Lois Blue, Pioneer; brothers, Franklin West, Pioneer, Marvin and wife, Emma Gaye West, Oneida; mother-in-law, Beulah King; sister-in-law, LaDena Pittman, White Oak; brothers-in-law, Glenn King, Warrenton, VA., Carl Small; special nephew, Steven Small who has been instrumental in helping with John care and comfort for the past several months, both of White Oak; a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. Private graveside services were held Sunday, September 7 at Odd Fellows Cemetery at White Oak, with Reverends Clarence Teague, Bill Floyd and Herman Money officiating. Llewellyn Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Louise Eugenia Wilson, 59, Caryville, died Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a member of the Ridgeview Baptist Church. Mrs. Wilson was a loving sister, aunt and great aunt who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, McKinley and Laura Eldridge Wilson. Louise is survived by her brother, Carl Wilson, Clinton; sisters, Willie Joy Wilson and Mitza Webb, both of Caryville, Doris Lawless, Clinton, Donna Leach, Florence, KY.; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Private graveside services will be held.
