Cleophus was an avid fisherman and handcrafted his own fishing lures to use and give away. His father, James Shafter Lloyd and sisters, Deola and Wanda Lloyd, preceded him in death. PRINCE, ROLAND - age 80, of Clinton, died Monday, November 17, 2003 at Fort Sanders Park West Medical Center. He was born August 27, 1923 in Woodville, Alabama, the son of Samuel and Verta Kenamer Prince, who are both deceased. Mr. Prince was a veteran of WWII, serving with the U. S. Army and he retired from the Army Reserves with the rank of Lt. Colonel. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1949 and was a 1951 graduate of the College of Law and held a BS in Business Administration. Mr. Prince began his law career in 1955 when he opened his practice. He then went into partnership with the late Howard Woodside. In 1956 he was elected to serve two terms as a legislator in the Tennessee House of Representatives. His partnership with Mr. Woodside ended in 1958 when Mr. Woodside was elected Trial Justice Judge. Mr. Prince and Harry Lillard opened a partnership in 1959 and that same year he was elected the first Oak Ridge City Judge. The Prince and Lillard Law Firm continued until 1962 when Mr. Prince was elected the Law and Equity Judge for Anderson County and he served in that position until 1974 when he was elected Chancellor Judge and continued there until his retirement in 1977. Mr. Prince was of the Presbyterian faith and enjoyed memberships in the Elks Lodge, the Ft. Loudoun Yacht Club, the Masonic Lodge of Gurley, Alabama and he was a Shriner with Kerbela Temple. He was also a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Anderson County Bar Association and was active with the Anderson County Democratic Party. He is survived by, his wife, Sharon Moneymaker Prince; son, R. P. Not only did Paul refuse to give into adversity, he continued to harbor a creative spirit, applying his self-learned intellect to assemble computers from the hard drive up as well as building a home and fostering a green thumb. Born Feb. 26, 1926, in Englevale, Kan., he was the son of John Louis and Irkle Baysinger Lane. Mr. Lane lived in Oak Ridge for the past 28 years. He belonged to a Baptist church. Mr. Lane was a member of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1944 to 1976. He retired with the rank of senior master sergeant. Mr. Lane was an Honorary Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Air Force SGT Association, American Legion, Toastmasters and National Rifle Association. Mr. Lane is survived by his wife, Anna Parrett Lane; his daughter, Darlene Lane-Mabey and husband, William J. He was a member of Fincastle United Methodist Church where he served as Trustee in the early days of the church. He was a Campbell County native and attended 5 schools to achieve his education: Speedwell Academy, Flat Hollow, Bolinger, Well Springs and LaFollette. He held in high regard his horse "Bill" which he rode to school. He founded Carr Equipment Company, a dealership for GMC Trucks, Massey Ferguson Tractors and New Holland Farm Machinery. He was a former member of Campbell County School Board of Education and owned and operated Campbell County school buses. He enjoyed investing in land and real estate and loved spending his winters in the warm sunshine of Naples, Florida, which he said, "is better than a doctor bill." He was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie McCarty Carr; father, Charlie Columbus Carr; brothers, Earl C. Carr and Delmar M. Carr. Survivors: wife, Jeanette Carr; daughters, Carolyn Fay Moneyhun and Rebeccca Lynn Kirklin; sons-in-law, Frank Moneyhun and Luke Kirklin. He was born in Oliver Springs, Tenn., a son of the late Franklin Louis and Martha Elizabeth Ladd. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Duggins Ladd. Mr. Ladd was a former TVA employee, served as the first City Judge for the town of Norris, Tenn., operated Norris Boat Dock and held the position of Purchasing Agent for Anderson County, Tenn. until his retirement in 1978. He is survived by his son, Judge Richard E. Ladd, and his wife, Isabelle of Bristol, Tenn.; two grandsons, Richard E. Ladd, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Abingdon, Va. and Michael R. L.B. was a loving husband of 43 years, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. L. Schill, 70, of Florida, formerly of Oak Ridge, ========================================= Leola Ahler Griffith, of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at her home. She was the daughter of Gustave and Queen Ahler, both now deceased. Mrs. Griffith was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Griffith. Mrs. Griffith is survived by a nephew, Bill Milsap and wife, Henrietta, of Chattanooga, and by several cousins. Her family said she will be remembered by many friends. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, at Anderson Memorial Gardens on Oliver Springs Highway with the Rev. Hortense Louvenia Gardner Rawl, 89, recently of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born July 28, 1914, in Sedley, Va., she was the daughter of Sylvester Lee Gardner and Emma Lee Gardner. According to her family, she was a devoted and faithful servant of the Lord. She was active in the Simonsdale Presbyterian Church in Portsmouth, Va., Chesterbrook Presbyterian Church in McLean, Va., and Idylwood Presbyterian Church in Falls Church, Va. Her family said her singing, decorating, fellowship and leadership contributions were all freely given to the glory of God and to the benefit of her family and community. Her family said she will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Mrs. Rawl was past president and judge of the Simonsdale Garden Club in Portsmouth and was active in the Parent Teacher Associations at her sons' schools from primary through high school. Mrs. Rawl is survived by her husband of 60 years, Edgar H. Rawl Jr. of McLean, Va.; two sons, Edgar H. Rawl III of Tucson, Ariz., and Richard R. Rawl and wife, Janet, of Oak Ridge; and by her grandsons, Randy, an 11th-grader at Oak Ridge High School, and Ryan, a ninth-grader at ORHS. A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Stephen Damos officiating.
