    3. Hi Susan, Claude is having problems receiving the posts so he is trying to fix the problem. When he thinks he has it fixed he sends a post to the list "test" to see if he will receive it. No one will laugh at you. We have all been there at one time or another. None of us knew how to use these things when we first started. You ask all the questions you want. She was born and raised in Morristown, Tenn., moved to Oak Ridge in 1943 (where she was a member of the '43 Club), and returned to Morristown in 1968. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Soma Sala, and DAR in Morristown, and served as director of the Davy Crockett Tavern. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Clyde Bowles; her son, Jay Bowles; and her parents, Lea King and Camilla Donaldson. She is survived by her daughter, Lucy Bowles Newton; grandchildren, Robert Newton and Laura Lea Clinton; and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, at Jarnigan Cemetery, with the Rev. Greg Cartwright officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to CARE USA (the international relief organization), 151 Ellis St. NE, Atlanta, GA 30303. Boyd Burress, 79, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Halls. Boyd was a member and caretaker at Ridgeview Baptist Church. He was a retired machinist at Y-12 after 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Burress; parents, Homer and Nannie Grubb Burress; and a brother, John Burress. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon and Elder. Mr. Kegley was a graduate of Birmingham Southern College and the University of Alabama, and was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. He worked at Southern Research in Birmingham prior to working at Oak Ridge National Lab. He retired from Martin Marietta in 1982. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed in Guam. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tracey Mitchell Kegley Sr. and Willie Inez Adams Kegley; a brother, Fulton Garton Kegley; and sisters, Ruby Kegley and Florence Kegley. Mr. Patterson was born Oct. 28, 1928, in Anderson County. He was a lifelong resident of this area. He was a member of the Oliver Springs Omega Masonic Lodge No. 536 F & AM and Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church however, he attended Batley Baptist Church. Mr. Patterson was a retired coal truck driver who worked at Walls and Coker Coal for 20 years and Premium Coal Company for 10 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Chadwick Patterson; by his parents, Johnny K. Patterson and Lassie Webb Patterson Key; and by two brothers, Robert "Bob" Patterson and Bill Patterson. He is survived by his daughter, Shelia Robertson and husband, Jerry, of Clinton; son, Ray Allen "Tiny" Patterson and wife Dolores of Powell; grandchildren, Kristi Beth, Kevin Allen, Stephanie Brock, and Stacy Robertson; 20 great-grandchildren; and sister, Joyce Kennedy of Oliver Springs. Lois Hensley Roberts, age 86, a resident of Knoxville, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005. She was born Dec. 25, 1918, in Oneida, Kentucky, living in Knoxville for the past 26 years. Lois was the daughter of the late Irvin and Sophia Hensley. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. McMurray Roberts; son, Charles Edwin Roberts and 13 brothers and sisters. Lois and her late husband of 53 years faithfully served together in the ministry of our Lord for 37 years. She was a shining Christian example and a beautiful reflection of Jesus Christ to all she met. Mrs. Roberts was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church in Knoxville. He was a United States Army veteran, serving his country during World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War, retiring Jan. 1, 1969, after 21 years of service. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Tri-County Chapter No. 26. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Daugherty; mother, Bessie Duncan; sons, L. Elaine Potter, of Oak Ridge, passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Mary Elaine Galiano was born April 9, 1923, in San Antonio, Texas, a daughter of Augustine "Doc" and Ida Galiano. Her brother, August, lives in Houston, Texas; her brother, John, of Lancaster, Pa., and sister, Kathleen of Woodville,Texas, having already passed away. Elaine graduated from Beaumont's French High School in 1940. She moved to Norris and then Oak Ridge in the early 1950s where her husband, Ralph Adrian Potter, came to work at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a ceramics engineer. She was a voracious reader and an ardent Big "D" Democrat. She was active in the League of Women Voters and Planned Parenthood, and a longtime member of the Oak Ridge Unitarian Church. She loved to cook and the zest carried her life as well as her recipes. Elaine was an optimist and an upbeat realist with a thick skin and an easy laugh. Meals were yoga exercises -- a way to breathe and a chance to learn. At least two discussions were required for every dinner, and a salad to cleanse the palate. She hummed operatic arias and jazz riffs with equal aplomb, and she danced. She is survived by three sons, Jason Michael Potter in Pittman, N.J., Christopher Lane Potter in Tampa, Fla., and Mitchell Adrian Potter in Arlington, Va. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donor's favorite charity. G. Curtis Todd Sr., 46, of Oak Ridge, died on Oct. 26, 2005, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was born in Bowling Green, Ky., on August 18, 1959, to parents David H. and Jacqueline Sykes Todd. After graduation from the University of North Carolina, with a degree in business, he married Susan. Curtis came to Oak Ridge in 1992 from Durham, N.C. Just recently, he began working with Met Life so that he could spend more time with his family. Earlier, Mr. Todd had worked in restaurant management for 22 years, with the last eight years being with Applebee's Restaurant in Oak Ridge. He was a volunteer with the Oak Ridge High School Band and a supporter of the Lady Vols rowing team. She was a retired school teacher having taught 38 years, 21 years in Scott County and 17 years in the Alcoa School System. Foust, 70, George Curtis Todd, 46, of Oak Ridge, Patricia Ann Eckerman, 63, of Oak Ridge, passed away Oct. 25, 2005. Pat was born Nov. 12, 1941, to Agnes and Frank Ramaker of Cuba City, Wis. She graduated in 1963 with a degree in nursing from St. Mary's College in Madison, Wis. Pat practiced as a registered nurse in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa. In 1968 she married Keith Eckerman. Together they lived in Illinois and Maryland before settling in Oak Ridge in 1979. The Eckermans were members of St. Mary's Catholic Church. A variety of local organizations benefited from Pat's skills during the past 20 years, including the local schools, the American Red Cross, and the Oak Ridge Meals on Wheels program. Pat was also a talented seamstress, and made costumes for several productions at the Oak Ridge Playhouse. Her participation in league bowling at the Oak Ridge Bowling Center was a source of many friendships, as were her neighbors on Berwick Drive.
