Tom This is a great help. This Hazel Jakes is the daughter of John & Carmendy(spelling) Jakes. John was a brother of my grandmother Pearl Gray Jakes Cooke. Hazel would be my Dad's 1st cousin. My Jakes Line was in Bedford Co. TN most of the 1800s and whats left of it is around the Murfreesboro/Nashville area...and I think there may still be a few in Shelbyville.
