Diane, The Slave Schedules list the slave owner and his or her slaves by sex and age. In most cases, no names are listed,however, I encountered one census in Bowie County, Texas, 1850, I think, the names of the slaves was also recorded. If your ancestor was a slave owner, these schedules will definately tell you something about him or her. If your ancestor was a slave, you might or might not be able to identify him or her from the census. Marleen Van Horne
