I checked my Lannoms and found no Devaults. But Lantrum and Lannom don't sound anything alike, so I doubt they were ever confused. Teresa Ghee Elliott TNRUTHER-L@rootsweb.com List Owner

    3. LOL. After tracking this name for 3 years now, I don't doubt anything! ha. I'm not giving up, just being open minded. Lannom was too similar to dismiss and since they were in Rutherford where my line is from, I had to ask. Our surname has gone from Lantrum to Lantron to Lanthrum so far and not sure what it was in between or before the first --the name of which I have YET to find on ANY document or census other than pension app of his son . One never knows what has happend in the past. I've even seen Lantern vary as Lantron. Just not sure what it will be from one census to the next. So far only found 3 Lantrum's on the whole world wide web. That seems strange to me. Surely the whole lot didn't just go extinct. I figure the name had to change somehow, for whatever reason, census takers fault or a purpose name change or alteration, unknown to me as of yet. Thanks for checking your data though I really appreciate it. While I'm posting this, Has anyone out there seen anything on a Mary DeVault or Henry Lantrum? Lantron? Lantern? Lanthrum? Lan--anything???? they would be born ca 1810 i suppose. Thanks for any leads. This line from rutherford tn, according to henry's son joseph's obituary, but son was found in williamson co, so focusing on rutherford county right next to williamson county. Lantern and Lantron are pretty rare too, this Lantrum surname may interchange with these or similar other names. ANY LEADS no matter how minute you may think, may be the lead I need. Thanks for anything. Good luck to all.
